I am Prakriti Mainali. After completing my Masters Degree in 2014, I co-founded a social business that aims to economically empower marginalized girls and women. All my efforts are directed towards breaking stereotypes and creating a 'women entrepreneurship' culture in our male dominated society. As part of this great mission of promoting women's leadership through entrepreneurship, I have started Omana hotel. I prefer to call the Omana as a transformative hospitality as this business is entirely being run by a group of women.
Omana, is a Sanskrit word which means a Woman, a Girl & a Life Giver. Being a woman, a mother, a sister & a daughter, I could not find a better name that would reflect my ideas and life philosophy of working for & with my fellow women for collective empowerment.

Our property and layout of the room, positioning of bed and so on have been designed and planned according to the Vastu Shastra. The Vastu Shastra is an ancient Hindu knowledge that prescribes the layout and positioning of objects to align with universal force in harmony. It is believed that following Vastu Shastru will bring a positive engery in you that makes your life happy, purposeful and sound.
All of our rooms have a distinct character that takes you on the journey of Nepali life, art, culture, and history. For an example, we have dedicated one room to showcase the rich history of pottery. The room is decorated with beautiful pottery items .
Wherever possible, we have resourced local materials and women crafted products.

Embassies and international organizations including the embassies of USA, and Japan are our neighbors. The landmarks such as Swoyanbhunath/Monkey temple, Pasupati temple, Boudha Stupa, Basantapur Durbar Square and Thamel are just 3 to 4 km away from this property. The property guarantees you serenity and peace amidst the chaos of the city. Only one minute walk from the property leads you to the main road.
