The eco-friendly B&B Dolphin Bay Hideaway features a wooden terrace with hammocks, plus garden and Dolphin Bay views. It is located on Cristobal Island, 20 minutes’ boat trip from Bocas del Toro. Offering wooden furniture, tropical-style décor and a seating area, the rooms are equipped with mosquito net, fan and a private bathroom. All come with garden views, while some units feature bay views. Activities such as beach excursions, snorkelling, canoeing, horseback riding, hiking, plus bird and dolphin watching can be arranged. The Chocolate Tour is another option.

Brian and Amy found themselves in San Francisco, asking themselves “What’s next?” and reflected back on the beauty, charm and warmth of Bocas del Toro from a past vacation. They decided to make some changes, including selling their home and belongings and moved to tranquil lsla San Cristóbal to take over the magnificent Dolphin Bay Hideaway.
They were intrigued and inspired by the local community, the incredible diversity of sea life, plants, animals and the incredible natural setting of Dolphin Bay. Moving to an “off-the-grid” Island without roads or municipal electricity or water also promised to challenge their beliefs in sustainability and environmental preservation.
With extensive experience living and traveling abroad, Amy and Brian believe the spirit of the Hideaway is strengthened by the endless desire to ensure guests feel relaxed, comfortable, and among friends surrounded by the incredible biodiversity of the area.

Dolphin Bay is truly extraordinary. It is a short 20 minute boat ride out of the noise and bustle of Bocas. Uniquely tucked away behind a series of alluring mangrove islets, water conditions are closer to a lake setting, which provide the tremendous advantage of year round ocean access. Unlike most places within the Bocas archipelago with seasonal rough seas, Dolphin Bay is protected and offers flat, calm conditions with stunning vistas. Right in front of the Hideaway, guests jump right in, swim or float about on rafts, take a paddle out to view the dolphins, meander up a jungle stream or view shore birds and abundant aquatic life. Nearby small communities of Bocatorito and Aldana provide excellent opportunities to observe local life and even paddle to our awesome neighborhood taco restaurant.
