Manor House offers a unique dwelling experience in a 1948 building, renovated in 2019, This one-of-a-kind property is a cultural reference of Lima’s mid-nineteenth-century architecture. Conceived as a rental-apartment building for an emerging neighborhood in the outskirts of downtown Lima, it was meant to be occupied by small families and single residents moving out of the growing historic center. The construction design reveals the progressive transformation of Lima’s traditional residential architecture in the late 1940s, from a neoclassic and ornamented facade to a cleaner, simpler and unadorned one. Manor House also reflects the influence of European urban culture of the 1950s, in which the low-rise residential buildings were the paradigm of good living and of sophisticated urban culture. In addition to the distinctive architectural features —high ceilings, large windows, loads of natural light and the warm ambience of polished wood floors-, the apartments have been thoroughly furnished with design pieces including Saarinen tables, Barcelona chairs, Bertoia chairs and Wassily chairs. The property also has a fabulous rooftop terrace with patio furniture and a BBQ.

We are the owners and managers of Manor House Lima. We both appreciate art, design and architecture, as well as travelling, discovering new cultures and meeting people from different backgrounds. We personally welcome guest upon their arrival, and remain alert for their requests and needs. Karim is a lawyer and practices natural resources law. He loves cooking, fishing and outdoor activities. He probably makes one of the best ceviches in town! Veronica is a social communicator specialized in development projects. She loves film, reading and walking. When we bought the building in 2009, we immediately thought that the six units would make perfect apartments for short-term rentals, not only because of their strategic location for visitors, but also because the building itself is a cultural reference of Lima’s mid-nineteenth-century architecture. As you will appreciate during your stay, almost no buildings from this period remain in town. Luckily, we believe in preserving the urban landscape, so we remodeled the units one by one.
