The last of the L’Efevre’s to live in the house was Vicky L’Efevre Lanza who was born there, raised her own family there and then had the foresight to see what a beautiful building could rise from her birthplace. A well known local personality. Vicky is No 13 of a family of 14 and has incredible stories to share of life growing up on the islands.

Sables d'Or Luxury Apartments have a unique history as they have been built on the site of the old home of one of the foremost families of the Seychelles Islands. The L’Efevre’s were prominent landowners of the Beau Vallon Beach area and the mountain range Trois Freres. Since 2013 we established Sables d'Or, a family managed business with a small team of Seychelloise. Our slice of island paradise have an island feel and designed for open plan living with direct access to the beach. With only 14 apartments we are able to provide offer privacy on the most popular beach on Mahe, Beau Vallon. We cannot wait to welcome you!

Neighbourhood information

Sables d’Or Luxury Apartments is set at Beau Vallon. Beau Vallon is a bay on the northwestern coast of Mahé in the Seychelles. Sables d’Or Luxury Apartments is located in walking distance to a number of shops, restaurants, hotels and local vendors. Beau Vallon Beach is the most popular on the island. It is known as a base for diving and snorkeling due to its clear waters and coral reefs. The beach is a gorgeous, wide bay with calm, gentle waters that is perfect for children. Enjoy walking and swimming at your doorstep. The daily sunset are incredible. It's in a great position for exploring the island - if you want a quieter beach, head north to Glacis or take a boat trip or hike to Anse Major or Baie Ternay, or use it as a base to explore the hills of the Morne Seychellois national park. Visit the capital Victoria over the mountain to discover the local market and Island culture. Every Wednesday there is a local bazaar. The most famous on Mahe, stalls are set out along the beautiful Beau Vallon. The weekly market is a big draw for locals and tourists alike and is guaranteed to be buzzing from 4pm to around 8.30pm. Here you can buy everything from fresh produce.
