SIMPLE ELEGANCE describes our thoughtfully restored 1850s Greek Revival home, conveniently located in the quintessential New England seaside village of Rockport. We are a few minutes' walk to beach, restaurants, shops, art galleries, the Shalin Liu Performance Center, and spectacular ocean views. Two well-appointed guest rooms and one suite, all with private baths, AC, TV and ceiling fans. Breakfast in a sun-filled formal dining room or outside on a natural stone patio. Enjoy the common areas with a fireplace, sunroom, or the open porch for just relaxing in a rocking chair while enjoying the seacoast weather and the shade of the 100 year old beech tree.

It was a classic case of love at first sight for us. We shared a lifelong dream of owning and operating a Bed and Breakfast and were discouraged after having looked at more than a dozen from Maryland to New Hampshire. It sounds cheesy to say, but not only did the house speak to us, the village of Rockport literally screamed out “this is it!” As former educators, our professional background also includes business, workforce development, leadership training and hospitality. During Helene’s teaching career she organized and guided trips abroad for high school students and their parents. And Dan even owned and operated an ice cream shop, while holding down his full-time job as a community college administrator. The Beech Tree Bed and Breakfast has provided a perfect outlet for our passion for the sea, history, the arts, writing, interior design, cooking, gardening, travel, lifetime learning and meeting people from all over the world.
