Located in the pretty Lake District village of Ambleside, this 18th-century hotel is located in the center of this historic town, with all the amenities on your doorstep.

We really enjoyed our night away. The room was really clean and spacious and the members of staff was friendly and welcoming. The food we had was delicious and there was lots to chose from at breakfast time.

Wateredge Inn- The Inn Collection Group stands on the shores of Lake Windermere, a short walk from Ambleside center.

We had excellent service from Vicki, Alex, and Jack. I got their names as they were the only ones who didn't seem like rude teenagers/young adults. Vicki was helpful and pleasant and kind. Alex just seemed to enjoy people and want to share information that was helpful. Jack was not cleared for checking us in, but was just a kind, sensible young man who offered us a more comfortable chair and was always pleasant.

Next to Lake Windermere, the stylish Waterhead Inn offers an onsite restaurant/bar and comfortable rooms, many of which have lake views. Ambleside is just a 10-minute walk away.

Staff were friendly. Main meal menu was good, and good value. The parking is free for those who grab a space. The public parking next door is 8 pounds for 24 hours, if you can persuade the ticketing systems to work. However during a week's stay at a busy time, I only had to park in the public area once.

With wonderful views over Lake Eltermere, Eltermere Inn is in the heart of the Langdale Valley. The historic country house has luxury rooms, a creative restaurant and a cozy bar with free Wi-Fi.

Breakfast was wonderful - perfect poached eggs and a fantastic selection of high quality food. Loved the rhubarb yoghurt and granola as well as the very fresh granary bread.

    Fabulous rooms & location .. breakfast inc across the road at the Inn @Grassmere, food was fantastic and staff were lovely ,made us & our 2 dogs very welcome Location was perfect , peaceful but lots of little.cafes and bars to eat at , superb walks on the doorstep

    Breakfast was supplied and was perfect. We also ate dinner there and it was lovely, I would recommend eating here. The staff for the hotel and the restaurant were very nice and friendly. Also very helpful with the checking in process.

    We had a great weekend at the Inn at Grasmere. It’s rustic, stylish and simply comfortable place to relax. Sauna and swimming pool were great for recovering after hiking. Staff were very welcoming, excellent food and very spacious rooms. Also, it’s a dog friendly hotel.
