Great people in a true Newari area, Patan Durbar Square only 5 minute walk, great knowledge and advice on local activities, great cook - breakfast and dinner are always excellent, big rooms and comfortable beds, easy access via InDrive to all Kathmandu Valley locations. Close to KTM international airport, but quiet.

The location of this hotel was perfect! Basically right in Patan's Durbar Square. The hotel is in a 300 year old building that used to be the house of the accountant of the king back in the day.The family that owns and runs the Guest house are all very nice and I would stay here again on my next trip through Nepal.

Owner is super friendly. He carries big smile and alway offer to help. I can also keep my luggage in reception for full day. This helped me a lot. Location is very close to Durbar square (just 5mins walking distance). Area is safe for solo female traveler. The room is larger than I expected. I highly recommend this guest house. Worthy for money.

We had a great stay at Traditional Newari Homestay! The location in Patan is way more quiet than in the center of Kathmandu. The rooms are clean, cozy and comfortable and the family is very very friendly! They even helped us a lot with bustickets and taxi arrangements. Breakfast and dinner is great! We’ll come back for sure! Thank you so much!

Hira Guest House is an authentic 300-year old house maintained in beautiful condition. The doorway lintels are low as it was customary to bow when entering a room. It is not a western style hotel. The host, Yelos, is a warm and friendly man, who is happy to share his knowledge and love of Nepalese culture and customs. We enjoyed traditional cuisine and shared a meal with his family.

I really enjoyed the historical atmosphere of this guest house. It was just like a musium. Location is perfect. Breakfast is good as well. Thanks to the helpful owner, I enjoyed a city sightseeing tour with a good guide. I want to come back again.

I loved how quiet, clean and authentic this lovely guest house was, perfect for my first stay in Patan. My room had clearly been recently refurbished so it felt extra comfortable. The bathroom was modern and spotless. It took a while to get used to the low ceilings - tall people beware! The property is very close to the main attractions in Patan - perfect for popping back for a rest during the day.

The Inn is ideally located, a short walk to Durbar Square with temples and museum and the Magal Bazaar The staff helped every day arrange our trips and organize drivers for us. Laundry service was fast and great. Once we walked down the alley to the Inn, all of the bustle and sounds of the city faded away and we were at peace.

After having stayed in a guest house around the corner from Hira at the beginning of my trip, I decided to move here after the trek because there was a terrace at the top. Although the terrace was nice for relaxing after a long day around town I regretted moving here - see below. The house is authentic (beautiful details / low ceilings) but not very well-maintained.
