From the moment we arrived, Lucila and her family welcomed us with warmth and care that made us feel like we were part of their home. Their kindness and attentiveness are unmatched – they truly go above and beyond to ensure every guest feels special. The property itself is stunning. The rustic yet elegant design perfectly complements the natural beauty of the desert. The pools (yes, plural!) are an oasis of relaxation, and floating in the cool water while surrounded by endless desert landscapes is an experience I’ll never forget. This is the perfect spot to disconnect from the chaos of everyday life. No distractions, just peace, tranquility, and the magic of the desert. The attention to detail, from the pristine cleanliness of the rooms to the thoughtful amenities, speaks volumes about the love and care Lucila and her family pour into this place. If you’re looking for a unique, soul-soothing getaway with a touch of magic, Estrella Casa del Angel is it. It was a very quiet, simple but comfortable room. You can reach the city center in 5 minutes by foot. On our first night we could even witness a neighbourhood/street festivity. Our room was equipped with two wide beds, two fans a bench to put our stuff and a private bathroom.

    Awesome Cabaña in the middle of nowhere. A lot of space and an incredible outdoor bathroom. The whole team was very nice and was caring about us like family. Highly recommend to stay here when in the Tatacoa desert!

    Great hotel situated in the center of villavieja. The staff were very efficient in organising a guide for a tour of Tatacoa, getting laundry done , bus timetables etc The rooms are spotlessly clean and made over every day . Spacious bathroom. Small pool but nice to have during the hot days. There is a restaurant onsite but I did not try it . Overall a very positive experience and I would definitely come back .

    People here are so friendly! The shared bathrooms were clean and the little hut we slept in was really lovely. Feels really relaxed here. If you look for a quiet place in the nature, this is perfect. Only 2kms from Desierto Gris.

    The perfect place to relax! Private cabins with air conditioning, tv, ensuite and a bath. The bed was comfortable and everything was very clean. The pool is also amazing! Breakfast is included and a restaurant can deliver lunch and dinner for a good price. There’s also an airport transfer service available that is very comfortable and convenient in a nice new car

    we loved the pool, the stars and the rural location created a nice space to relax and feel the atmosphere of the desert. it is close to observatory, red and grey deserts. we were lucky because weather was good so the road to property was dry but it could be tricky to drive in wet weather. cabins were very rustic and luckily they have mosquito nets over beds. there were three young men working on site who were very friendly and always there to help with anything.

    The owner is an incredible lady who went out of her way to make sure I and all the other guests were comfortable. She was always offering us coffee or lemonade, arranged a tour of the desert at a very good price, and also called ahead so that the bus back to Neiva picked us from the hotel. The hotel itself is simple but comfortable, the rooms are clean and bathrooms look new. It has a nice outdoor space to relax in.

    Rooms are very spacious, clean, and comfortable with private bathrooms. The hotel is conveniently located at the edge of the nearest town to the desert from which it takes max 20 mins to the desert by car. Staff is very friendly and helped us out with booking a guide (Esneider) who did an amazing job! Very very highly recommended.

    Beautiful, unique accommodation - a peaceful cabin on stilts in the desert with our very own 'skybed', fantastic for viewing the stars at night! The location was great for a tour of the Tatacoa desert as well as relaxing on site in shady hammocks and spotting numerous colourful birds, including hummingbirds! Staff were friendly and helpful and even taught us some Spanish! Plenty of delicious meal options for us as vegetarians/vegans, especially the Guerrero bowl.

    The place was indeed very clean ! The terrace space is relaxing and it's nice to be outside taking a rest. It's close to different attractions in Villavieja so you can leave the hotel and walk easily.
