Fabulous! Everything about it. As beautiful as Santillana is, it's too touristy for me but we we're starting our next section of the CAMINO DEL NORTE from the town. The location is great, the building is beautiful, the room was fabulous AND as for the breakfast (Included) I wish I had 3 stomachs, there was SO MUCH wonderful choice, amd the price was incredible. In my own stupidity I left a pair of sandals at the hotel, I only realised when I arrived at Comillas. I rang the hotel and they offered to drive over to COMILLAS with them, which I couldn't let them do, and will collect them when I return to the area in May, awesome awesome people running a fabulous hotel!!
Featuring free WiFi throughout the property, Akla Suites con Jacuzzi Santillana offers accommodation in Santillana del Mar.

It was perfect. The breakfast was plentiful and right there in your room ready for you to prepare when you wanted it, and replenished each day. The room was large and bed extremely comfy. Loved the added jacuzzi in the room too!

Breakfast buffet was excellent, massive spread, lots of choice, quality ingredients. Our room was spotless and spacious with a big private terrace, and lots of space for clothes and belongings, it had a useful little fridge and a nice spa bath.

We've stayed in many hotels in Spain - from simple one stars to five-star Paradores - so have a broad experience of what's good and what's not.
Suffice to say we contemplated returning to Posada Spa San Marcos on our return journey from a tour of Spain.
Had we not visited Santillana del Mar on two previous occasions it would be a definite.
We opted for the Posada - rather than the attached hotel - from a fellow traveller's recommendation – and weren't disappointed.
The Posada enjoys an adjacent private car park - so easy to move luggage to and fro.
It's a five minute walk into the historic area of Santillana del Mar - even with my walking aid!
Buffet breakfast was excellent, with everything we required being available - plus the option of a cooked breakfast on request– at no additional charge.
The walk-in rain shower was a nice and welcome surprise.
Having stayed at the Parador Gil Blas (smack bang in the middle of the difficult to navigate old town) on a prior trip, being on the edge of the town, proved much more relaxing.
To cap it all, if you're a classic car or motorbike buff, the hotel's owner allows guests to view his admirable collection.
This typically-Cantabrian hotel is surrounded by verdant lawns, just 300 metres from the bars, restaurants and shops of Suances, on Spain’s Green Coast. Suances Beach is 250 metres away.
Featuring air-conditioned accommodation with a balcony, Casa Camino del Dobra, Centro de Cantabria is set in Viérnoles. Guests staying at this apartment have access to a patio.
Stepping into a hot tub and relaxing in its warm water is bliss. If you opt for a hotel with a jacuzzi, you can do this any time you like – morning, afternoon, or evening. Some hotels offer guests private hot tubs, while others have a shared jacuzzi that’s usually part of a wellness spa.
Beautiful room and bathroom. The old building has been beautifully restored! Room and bathroom very clean - especially the bathroom is very spacious. Quiet at night - so had good night’s rest. We had to leave early so had to miss breakfast - lady at reception brought us fruit and 2 sobaos (Cantabrarian speciality) to take with. Very friendly and helpful lady at reception. Highly recommended
Everything absolutely fabulous - especially the upgrade to suite with spa bath - super! Service excellent, friendly and welcoming. Pool looked beautiful, although didn't use personally. Visit into nearby Santillana del Mar and then to Comillas for the gorgeous beach 15 mins away (recommended by hotel staff) absolutely worth spending time! Evening meal and breakfast great with excellent service. Wish we could have spent more time there. Having the privilege to inspect the classic car and bike collection a bonus!
A genuine, family-run hotel that made us feel very welcome. The breakfast was amazing (the best scrambled eggs in Spain), fresh meats, fresh fruits and house-made cakes. Both plentiful & delicious. Walking distance to all the old city has to offer, shops, bars and restaurants. Spacious rooms with modern bathrooms. Nothing was any trouble.
We would definitely return to this hotel. Thank you for making us feel so welcome.
Very relaxing hotel. Super pool and gardens. Lovely bedroom. We really liked the jacuzzi bath. We were so pleased that we could borrow ebikes. We didn’t plan to have breakfast but we were so pleased that we did. Super service and delicious food. It was also a lovely touch being giving a bag with water and biscuits for the journey.
Very stylist well appointed hotel. The rooms were spacious with high quality fittings. Large bathroom and very large shower. The staff very pleasant and extremely helpful. The outside terrace was an excellent space to relax. Complementary drinks on arrival and thoughtful bag on departure with water bottles and biscuits. Highly recommend
Loved this small hotel, very modern, immaculate and very comfortable. View of the pool area from our room, which had a jacuzzi bath. Shame we couldn't use the pool or the pool area as it was too cold. Well made video about the hotel playing behind the reception desk. Close, 5 minute walk, to the lovely little town of Santillana del Mar, where there are a lot of old buildings and lots of restaurants. Fairly close to Santander so good for finishing a tour.
We wanted a relaxing hydromassage after a week long hiking in Pico de Europa, so the idea of the room with a bed and spa bath sounded like a great option.
