Situated in Newport, in a historic building, 17 km from University of South Wales - Cardiff Campus, The West Usk Lighthouse Lightkeepers Lodge is a bed and breakfast with a garden and terrace.

The accommodation was warm for our October visit the view was amazing from the lodge. We stayed for a weekend and didn’t use all the facilities available to us, but left very content.

Very friendly and helpful host, stunning house and property, easy to find, super clean, and very comfortable with all the amenities! Could not have asked for anything more. Absolutely recommend this property for large groups.

    very spacious, clean, and well-equipped. The bathroom could use a couple of shelf or hooks, somewhere to hang wet towels or toiletries. The hot tub is great. Unfortunately we didn't really get enough time there to truly enjoy it, hopefully we will get to go back.

    Fortunate to stay in the Penhow Suite which was excellent & had a double jacuzzi bath! Food was really good & a lovely breakfast. The flowers outside were gorgeous - would highly recommend a stay here.

    The hotel has a spacious feel, the staff are very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The restaurant does a wonderful breakfast selection, the pool/sauna/jacuzzi are lovely and clean. Room are large and spacious with generous bathrooms.

    Great room and bathroom. Big comfy bed and choice of pillows. Good choice at breakfast and choice of different restaurants for evening meals with complimentary transfers if at a different location at the resort. Spa facilities really good with child free times available and separate male/female sauna and jacuzzi if preferred. I didn't have a treatment so can't comment. Lots of activities, adventure golf was brilliant but be organised as need to book beforehand. All staff were a credit to the hotel.

    Quiet comfortable room though it lacked drawer space. Ok for 1 or 2 nights to live out of a suitcase. Needs chest of drawers or good shelving in wardrobe. Nice large fluffy towels in bathroom. Dinner was expensive. Signature lounge was good.
