The house is very spacious and lovingly decorated. The downstairs living room and sleeping room with en-suite bathroom are bright, comfortable and relaxing and the upstairs rooms were the perfect getaway for the kids. If you step out on the private terrace you might see some cows (certainly hear them), sheep, deers and rabbits. On the other side, in front of the main house, we had a magnificent and breathtaking view of the Isle of Arran.

Lovely old hotel, comfortable room with great views across the bay, great lounge and outside area to relax, order a drink, or have a meal. Good food, reasonably priced. Friendly service and staff that don't get in your way. Excellent location and a short walk into town.

There was a TV in the bar lounge area but it was never on. People relaxed, had a meal or a drink, but more importantly they talked with each other. The Glenburn offers an area like this due to the mix of sofa's to sit and relax on and tables to have bar food at. This was on top of an amazing restaurant where the food was gorgeous. Only criticism is that I'm a bit of a traditionalist and would have liked a bit more traditional food on the menu. Overall an excellent stay.

The hotel is as impressive as the pictures. Take The Shining, mix it with Fawlty Towers and add a hint of 20th century glamour. Nice, spacious room. We really appreciated the bath: excellent for relaxing the muscles after a long walk. View from the room (we took one with sea view) was great. Rooms are super quiet, we slept like babies. Bar personnel were very friendly and helpful. Location: just 5 min walk from the ferry and Rothesay center / buses.
