This is a wonderful adults only bed and breakfast. The accommodations were so comfortable: the bed, the quiet, the outdoor garden with lots of spots to nap and read. The swimming pool was divine after all day of biking the island. Bikes were available both electric and regular. La Couarde is a good midway point for daily biking on safe bike routes. Florence and Rémy were the BEST hosts: inviting, helpful with daily excursion suggestions that we followed. We felt so welcomed.

Very comfortable and friendly B&B. This was a one night stopover on the way back from Spain to Caen. We could easily have stayed longer. Sophie kindly showed us the main places to visit during our short stay, and we ate in Saint Martin de Rey, caught the sunset at the lighthouse, and visited La Flotte before leaving. Beautiful island and we will visit again.

Located in Les Portes-en-Ré, Le Phare features 2 heated pools one of which is covered. The camping is 30 metres from the beach. The camping was amazing, the houses were really accommodating and the outside spaces were just what we needed for a relaxing get-away. It also had a great location, right near wonderful beaches and the staff was very welcoming and helpful. They offered a welcome package in the house, which we found quite thoughtful.
