Newly renovated during the spring of 2023, Hotel Local 101 is an independent hotel quietly tucked away in the heart of downtown Reykjavik, on a charming street made up of classical Icelandic homes.

Cleanliness, cozy, warm. Really enjoyed the room but to be honest we stayed very little in the room as we were on full day trips every day. Breakfast was great and healthy!

Set an 8-minute drive from central Reykjavik, this hotel offers free parking and brightly decorated rooms with a flat-screen TV and free Wi-Fi access. Kringlan Shopping Centre is 1 km away.

Room was very comfortable. Hotel was in a good location, about a half-hour walk into the centre of Reykjavik, although there was a bus stop nearby. It was great to have a free parking space outside the hotel. Breakfast was excellent and a good range of food was on offer.

Ideally located in the centre of Reykjavík, CityHub Reykjavik offers air-conditioned rooms, a bar and free WiFi.

This specific accommodation resource provider service is just perfect in every conceivable way for the independent solo tripper and possibly any fun-loving, young-at-heart easygoing small intimate group ie close knit family etc. to chill and unwind whilst in the Icelandic capital for the good central proximity to everything(the hot tub was a cheeky bonus *winkwink*)! The hubs are superbly designed & extremely cosy, clean & comfortable with the most amazing king size bed & even ample space for littlest me to stretch everyday. The Shared bathroom on the 4th floor seemed like an on suite at times and was hygienically clean as can be ie zero undesirable whiffy smells not to mention zero sticky sticky bathroom floors at this specific location of City Hub here, credit to the hardworking Cityhub Reykjavik housekeeping team(I had a preconceived notion prior to staying in the cityhub accommodation that the hubs would be claustrophobic yet as a repeat guest I can confirm & conclude that is not the case, I personally wouldn’t choose anything else)💯 Accommodation felt luxurious in many ways & very much a home from home vibe(something you rarely & seldom get in typical hotels & guest accommodation in general💯) & so I can 💯recommend(if you are fortunate to stumble upon an accommodation gem in a particular place or city why would you stay anywhere else). Takk takk & credit to the loveliest team dynamic, an asset to Reykjavik you all are!

Get here just before sunrise for a delight. Whilst it wasn't a completely clear day when I visited the sky did not disappoint with it's shades of orange and reds which reflected of the silver of the sculpture. I was even lucky enough to see a rainbow over the mountains! Stunning.

    Beautiful art.

Beautiful art. Sadly no information to be found at the site that explained who made it, what it was made of, etc... I also did not care for how many people were climbing on it. Tip: if you want a picture of this go really early in the morning before all the people show up.

This spot is a must have photo op.

This spot is a must have photo op. Don't spoil the the sheer raw beauty of the stark sculpture and an awesome sunrise or sunset with a selfie. Let your camera record the structure and land/sea scape as it was intended. Easy to get to from the main street too.

I call it, the "Simple Beauty". So unassuming but because of where it's positioned it becomes much more than just the scheletum of an old viking boat. It's beautiful with the sun shining over it and also at night under the lights!

Can you imagine something that size voyaging toward the setting sun? Yet they did. And landed here, settled here, struggled here, and they won. Perhaps because of its simplicity, I could place my ancestors in the seats.
