Hotel Villa Agape is near the Arcetri Observatory in Florence, and is surrounded by a 8-hectare park with olive and cypress trees.

Very nice choice for those who want to experience Florence away from the crowds, the real flavour of it! I would recommend it for the spring/summer period, not that much for winter, as you cannot really enjoy what makes the hotel so beautiful - its gardens! Staff is welcoming and the breakfast is excellent!

Hotel Orcagna is located in a quiet area near the Arno River. You can walk to Piazza S.Croce in 15 minutes, or get a bike at reception and visit the entire Florence.

We had a truly wonderful stay! The receptionist went above and beyond for us,she made sure every question we had was answered thoroughly and with care.💯 Cleanliness was top-notch, not just in the room but throughout the entire property. Everything smelled fresh, looked new, and was very well maintained.✨️ The food was excellent tasty, well prepared, and satisfying.🥰 Overall, there was nothing missing. Everything we needed was there, and we couldn’t have asked for more. Highly recommended!👍

Worth the hike up to the Piazzale Michelangelo for the view of the city. We chose this over the Duemo … I’m sure the view is just as good and it’s free. We carried on up to the cemetery which is worth a visit.

A great view of all of Florence.

A great view of all of Florence. Definitely worth the walk up there (it's not that bad or that steep; maybe in the heat of August is a different story, but we were there in May). And yes, there are public toilettes up there -- 1 Euro. Always have some spare coins in your pocket for public toilets!

Check-in was very easy. We received the instructions and codes prior to our arrival. The room itself was quite small and there was little space to store suitcases. There was a plug in the bedroom and one in the bathroom. The shower was great (good pressure and temperature). Location wise, it felt far out. It was a 20-minute walk from the station and a bit half an hour from the touristy spots. Piazzale Michelangelo was an hour walk away.

Hotel is located in a quiet part of Florence, which is great if you wish to avoid the throng of tourists, but at the same time, the local attractions in including the Duomo and the Mercato are within walking distance (8min walk) . You can also catch a bus to the Piazzale Michelangelo from the square across the hotel. The receptionist, Rafaella was wonderful. I could tell she loves to help tourists make the most of their stay in Florence. Bed was comfortable, room was very clean. Would love to stay there again!

What guests said about Piazzale Michelangelo:

  • Do a bit of research & prioritise what you want to do & see...

Do a bit of research & prioritise what you want to do & see in advance of your trip then plan a route on a map. Allow plenty of time as the queues at the main landmarks can be very long. You can easily walk everywhere but as the museums can take a good 2 hours to walk around (plus your queueing time) be realistic about what you can fit in to each day. Do find a rooftop or head uphill to Piazzale Michelangelo to watch the sunset over Florence - a magical experience.

It is a beautiful city to walk around with so much history seeping through every street. The walk up to the Piazzale Michelangelo is a little steep but short and completely worth it for the amazing views across the city.
