The location right next to the cathedral is absolutely perfect for a visit to Bologna and that is all that matters to be honest as everything is literally on your doorstep. It’s also quiet, slightly quirky and the rooms very comfortable - we loved it!
At check in all guests will be asked to provide a credit card as guarantee in case of outstanding extras after check out. Hotel Corona d'Oro 1890 offers a great position in Bologna city centre.

My parents visited this hotel and they were super positive. Location is superb, the hotel looks amazing and everything is taken care of, staff are super polite and helpful, my parents even mentioned that the rooms are sound proof so you do not hear the cleaning machines on the street. Besides, the beds sleep amazing, they even made pictures of the pillow brand labels, that good. And of course breakfast with lots of options, everyday a different breakfast. So looking for a hotel in Bologna, choose this one, recommended.

All of the staff were fantastic. The reception team were friendly and courteous and every request for help was dealt with professionally and promptly. The staff in the restaurant were lovely too and worked well together to provide seamless service.
Newly renovated with modern designs and trendy character, Savhotel is 500 metres from the Fiera di Bologna exhibition centre.

The hotel and amenities were great for a hotel which is outside the city center close to the fair. The dry-cleaning service was surprisingly efficient and excellent. The management and staff were outstanding. The breakfast was so-so for 12 Euros. It was not included in my room price but extra, however, we found the local coffee shop which is a 5 minute walk from the hotel, a much better option for Celiac dietary breakfast concerns. We could get more breakfast gluten free options there because they made smoothies etc. I have to say that the hotel's coffee was exceptionally good; the restaurant staff are really wonderful and we had dinner at the hotel 3 of our nights in Bologna and the food was lovely. The front desk staff were exceptional and went our of their way to assist us with getting taxi's or giving us directions on just about anything. We also understand that a European approach to breakfast is somewhat different to a North American one. Their breakfast might be fine for others, so I wouldn't be hard on the hotel for that. It just didn't work for us but I would return to the SavHotel in a skinny second. It certainly worked for us with attending the Bologna Children's Book Fair.
