We used the sauna twice a day and my favorite feature of the room was the oxygen bathtub - LOVED that!! The location was also great for exploring and discovering restaurants and shops within walking distance. Everything was pristine and the staff was very helpful when we decided to transfer our luggage last minute. We appreciated the gift of scented water for the sauna very much. The coffee and hot chocolate and cookies in the lobby were great and enjoyed by my entire family daily!

The hotel was in an excellent location - close to shops, bars and restaurants, and right by a subway and train station so very convenient. The room was nicely decorated and the bathroom was very nice.

Nice hotel in the center of Gion Area. Lots of space, but without breakfast options. Great option if you want to stay central and have space!

Awarded two pavilions by the Michelin Guide 2020, Hotel Alza Kyoto is located near the Kamo River and within Gion District, a 2-minute walk from Sanjo Station.

Excellent location right in the heart of Gion and close to train station! Very clean and comfortable room. This was the largest room we had in our travels around Japan and the best hotel we stayed in. Would definitely stay here again when visiting Kyoto.

I thought the beds and pillows were comfy. Bathroom is very clean and had great water pressure. Love there’s a closet to hang clothes and being able to hang dry clothing in the shower after wash using the shower room heat feature. Requests like additional trash bags or instant coffee powder were promptly completed. Easy checkout system of return key box. Superb location, close access to a grocery store, bus stops, subway, and popular shopping area. Quiet street and very walkable.

Open from September 2017, The Celestine Kyoto Gion is set in Kyoto, a 10-minute walk from Gion-Shijo Station. Guests can walk to Kiyomizu-dera Temple in 15 minutes from the property.

The location was ideal. Situated right next to a quiet park with beautiful temples. Within walking distance of many famous Kyoto sights and close to a train station. We were immediately greeted on arrival with a nice tea service while they checked us in. The lobby is gorgeous and peaceful. Were really liked the layout of the hotel with separate wings for the rooms, lobby, and onsen. The onsen was relaxing and very clean. Comfortable rooms and a great attention to detail.

Chion-in Temple

This massive temple may not have the star quality of Kinkaku-ji, Fushimi Inari or Kiyomizu-dera, but it abounds with charm. Head down at nightfall to see it in all its illuminated glory, with lit-up pathways flanked by pine trees, and pagodas giving off an ethereal glow.
