I now regard Homm Stay Nagi Arashiyama as one of my favourite places to stay. The room was exceptional, the bed and pillows really comfortable and the reception staff were extremely hlepful. The bathroom was amazing!!!! It's also conveniently near attractions and a gourmet supermarket.

So much to love here: a unique history and gorgeous architecture of the house, exceptional breakfast, good dinner, world-class homemade gelato, a clever use of the onsen, attentiveness by most staff, the lovely garden. Comfortable bed and the incomparable spaciousness of the rooms. Overall a very pleasant and memorable stay. Great for people looking for something different from the rest.

Opened in 2015, Urban Hotel Kyoto Nijo Premium is conveniently located just a 5-mintue walk from JR and metro Nijo stations.

The pillows we got were very uncomfortable, and only having one pillow, where most hotels give two, made the nights a little uncomfortable for me.

The place was so clean and comparing the other places they have a big (standard size) room. Also, the location a bit far from center but there is a bus station like 1 min to walk

The hotel location is excellent. It is across the road from Nijo train station, and walking distance to Nijo castle. The rooms are lovely, quite beige but nice quality. The hotel provides pyjamas - that my husband loved, slippers, toiletries, room spray etc. Check in was quick and easy - very impressed. Free coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and cordial drinks were available for free in the lobby. The beds and pillows were comfortable, the bathroom was clean and tidy. There are great cafes and restaurants located close to the hotel. Including: Yamashita Shozo (Yamasho-Ramen) for amazing Ramen located two doors up from the hotel, Yayoi Ken for Japanese Teishoku Restaurant with food sets located diagonally across the road from the hotel, Kura Sushi - a sushi train restaurant - just 7 minutes East of the hotel across and past the railway station. We enjoyed staying here and would stay again.
