The Thousand Kyoto features air-conditioned rooms with satellite flat-screen TV in the Shimogyo Ward district of Kyoto.

Modern but cold, everything dark and quite in-personal. We were not able to eat at hotel any day during our stay as no availability. Looks much better on the photos then in real life. Best was the location next to Kyoto station.

Attractively situated in Kyoto, Richmond Hotel Premier Kyoto Ekimae features air-conditioned rooms, a shared lounge, free WiFi and a restaurant.

The entrance is just beautiful. They also supply afternoon tea and a bit later on you can have drinks and nibbles. Heaps of supplies to help yourself from at the checking in counter.

Attractively set in the Shimogyo Ward district of Kyoto, MIMARU Kyoto Station is situated 1.4 km from Sanjusangen-do Temple, less than 1 km from Kyoto Station and 2.9 km from Gion Shijo Station.

Location was perfect, so close to the station so very convenient for both traveling around and services - loads of shops. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful, room was spacious and very clean.

    (+) Comfortable hotel, in a nice and quite neighbourhood, not too far away by foot to Kyoto station (~15min). Friendly staff, kitchen was well equipped with a large fridge, and a washing machine. Free coffee in the morning at the reception. (-) It lacked some space to put the luggage and clothes (no cupboard). Thin walls, and windows, as it is most often the case in Japan / can be cold..

    Very convenient location by Kyoto Station so good for access to all parts of the city and further afield. Clean and modern. Room ok size for Japan but it was only me using it. Huge breakfast selection of mainly Japanese items but some cereals, bread and tinned fruit. 7/11 attached to hotel was very convenient. Check out at 10 AM but happy to store luggage for me as I had a late flight. Quits hard pillows and beds.

    A pretty hotel with zen feeling. Only hotel that delivered our luggage to our room for us. Room was a bit tight but the bathroom was spacious and good that toilet is in a separate room. Breakfast is highly recommended with extensive range of Japanese dishes. Tasted yummy. Lots of amenities available for gusts use. Complementary dessert and drink in the afternoon and free flow of alcoholic drinks and snacks in the evening are a bonus. 10 min walk from Kyoto station.

The building is definitely old-fashioned, but this only adds to its charm, giving guests the chance to enjoy a truly authentic Japanese experience. If you're a fan of brand-new, aseptic, soulless chain hotels, skip this place. But if you're looking for something authentic, book it right away

    Good transport links. It's opposite the station, and just 20mins walk from Kyoto station if you miss the last train. They give you pjs, slippers and toiletries like other Japanese hotels, there is also a luggage transfer service to and from the airport.

    The location was ideal, close to Kyoto station. Staff at hotel was welcoming and attentive. The facilities were modern and everything functioned well. Our room was compact and very tidy. Breakfast included a generous selection of both western and Japanese food. Free afternoon tea/coffee and drinks were available for guests.

    We stayed on the apartment next to the hotel. A fabulous experience. Beautiful little town house. Breakfast was served to us each day and was exceptional. The staff could not have been nicer. 10 mins to the main Kyoto station so location could not have been better.

    Staff are so friendly and helpful. Rooms are bigger. Great location near Kyoto Station, local buses pick you up right outside door to take you to the station. Aeon Shopping Mall down the road, with lots of stores and a great food court. Also the Kyoto Sky Hop bus picks you up almost at the hotel, across the road. Buffet is Japanese inspired breakfast - so yummy.

    Perfect location, just a few steps from Kyoto station. Room size was OK in comparision to other Japanese hotels. Big comfy beds but the pillows were extremly hard and not comfortable . A lot of amenities. There is an onsen as well but I did not try it.

    Spacious room, nice vibes and ambience, the open air feel of the hotel was great. It's also nice to have a private aircon, sofa and even a balcony - not a given for most hotels in Japan. Really close to 7-11 for quick purchases, and a really short walk to Kyoto station for getting on a train to see the city. Comfy beds and insane water pressure in the shower. Even had a usable bath. Free drink at night is great too.
