The fact that I got there! I needed 2 locals and the receptionist of the Metropole Hotel to assist to getting to the Dodo Hotel.
Booking.com--> You catch the Airport Bus (#22) to the Central Bus/Tram Station that is near the overhead train line. Turn right under the train bridge to the markets (the 4 arches) and be on the side of the Maxima store to catch tram #7 to the hotel.
Dodo Hotel was in a suburban area that was clean, quiet, and staff were appropriate. Across the tram lines, there was a store to buy food and any supplies needed. TV had channels in many languages and would recommend a stay.
I was there for a single night, however, this is the important opportunity of a hotel! I would stay again Well done!!
The stylish 3-star Superior Hanza Hotel occupies a beautifully renovated historic building, just a 7-minute walk from Riga's Old Town.

It was my perfect hotel room and my perfect hotel. Friendly and welcoming staff, an elevator, a lovely room which is fully equipped and functions alright but still has a pleasant old touch. I loved the wooden shutters on windows, a stunning view to beautiful old buildings and the quiet street, and seagulls' cries in the morning. The bathroom is modern and convenient with clean towels. There's a kettle and a desk beyond two wide nightstands, a closet with hangers, and a bag holder. Wi-Fi worked well. The Hanza pub came very much in handy since the area did not have too many cafes, food was delicious and there were many options for breakfast. Quite close to public transport stops.
The Gertrude Hotel self check-in is a family-friendly, boutique hotel located in a 19th century Art Nouveau style building. This 4-star hotel is a 15-minute walk from the St.
Located in the heart of Rīga and housed in a beautiful 1901 Art Nouveau building, Mercure Riga Center is 1312 feet from the Old Town and next to the Riga Train Station.

This hotel was AMAZING. I loved it so much and hated to leave! When I go back to Riga, I will only book in here again.
The staff were super helpful and kind (especially when after 18+ hours of travel I did not realize I had to push harder on the my room door to get it to open). The hotel is conveniently located right next to the central railway station which has a large mall with a grocery store, restaurants, and a low fee money exchange. Lots of shops and restaurants are within walking distance. They also accept pets, which was critical to me since I was bringing a dog home from Latvia.
The staff are very, very good about answering questions through Booking.com before you arrive too. Since I was getting a puppy in Latvia, I sent a query about nearby vet clinics just in case. They quickly responded back with three different options. Fortunately I did not have to go to any of them, but I felt much more comfortable about traveling alone with my new dog in a country I have never visited before. No matter what I asked the staff while I was there, they always had the answers and went out of their way to help.
My room was modern and spotless. The toiletries were an organic local brand, The Botanist and the Chemist, and smelled fantastic! My bed was more comfortable than my own bed at home and had both firm and soft pillows. I liked the assortment of tea and coffee supplies as well as the electric kettle and glasses of various sizes. The breakfast buffet was delicious and had a wide range of choices, including gluten-free bread options.
The best part? I was booked on a 6:05 am flight from Riga to Frankfurt. Since I was continuing on to the U.S. and had a dog with me, I had to be at the airport by 4 am. The hotel arranged a minivan service to pick me up at 3:30 am and because I would not be there for breakfast later that morning, they gave me a breakfast bag with water, juice, fruit, a muesli bar, and a perfectly made croissant sandwich to take with me!
