The gardens are spectacular you need time to explore it there is so much to see. It is hilly in parts so you need to be reasonably fit if you want to see the Avery and other walks in the park.we spent two hours there but ran out of time

These gardens are absolutely stunning. So well maintained and cared for. Really liked how they have seats scattered throughout the rock gardens, overlooking the gardens, streets below and basked in the sunshine. Fabulous idea.

A huge area to walk around. Park at the top gardens and visit the aviary and rhododendrons and azaelas in spring. Walk down to the bottom gardens but it's quite a walk back up to the car. Lovely gardens and very tidy, have plenty of time.

They are amazing - especially at this time of the year with the rhodendrons flowering. Well worth spending a few hours there. But parking can be an issue. Also worth a look at next to the gardens if you are interested in history is the old Dunedin North Cemetery.

The property is easy to get to - on the main road heading north. The room was clean and tidy and bed comfortable. It was about a 10 minute walk to the Dunedin Botanic gardens (well worth a visit), and about a 10 minute drive into the city centre.

Aria on Bank has been our favourite place to stay whilst visiting the South Island. Gorgeous loft apartment that is short walking distance to the Dunedin Botanic Gardens, cafes, restaurants, shopping centre and even a cool little bar called Inch Bar, that has live music most nights. The owner was helpful, highlighting places to go on a map. The apartment had everything we needed including a hot plate, comfortable bed and powerful shower.
