Hotel St Clair is located just 10 minutes’ drive from central Dunedin. Rooms include flat-screen satellite TV, en suite bathroom with under-floor heating and views of St Clair Beach.

Great location, cafes and restaurants near by and right on the sea front. We had a rear room, but you could still see the sea from the balcony. Shower was great. Room was clean well during the day, really comfortable bed. Really nice experience. Easy bus into town (you need $3 cash) .

Located in the heart of Dunedin, the Fable Dunedin is housed in a beautifully renovated and elegant Victorian-era building.

Room was not as per pictures on website for room. When challenged reception if we were given the correct room, superior king room, we were assured we were and that we had one of the better views for light coming in. Pictures used on website are false advertising. View from room was into a service duct in middle of hotel. Air conditioning units could be heard in room at all times. Room lighting was poor, quite dark. Bathroom very small. Restaurant had limited choice and more or less same for lunch and dinner. Breakfast - there is no cereals, fruit, yogurts or pastries to choose from. It is a la carte only. Was advised at breakfast on second day that breakfast inclusion was for one item only off the menu and anything additional would be charged for. Never been in any hotel let alone ‘5’ star anywhere that you can only have a bowl of porridge for breakfast and anything else is charged for. Parking - they’ll charge you $40 per night for this. This is not a ‘five’ star hotel.
