Topkapi Palace
The home of Ottoman sultans for hundreds of years, Topkapi Palace is part of Istanbul’s UNESCO World Heritage Site. Dating back to 1459, this sprawling royal residence once covered a huge stretch of the shore – and even had its own hospital, mint and mosques within the walls. Now a museum, it displays some of the most important artefacts of the Muslim world.

i know the country is struggling and that they also have to do what they can to reduce the hordes tramping through Topkapi, but you have to be on the level of the British Museum or the Louvre with a once-in-a-lifetime traveling exhibit to justify these kinds of prices.
I'm very interested in Turkish history as well as an archaeology buff and it didn't merit the investment.
i think they should cut the price in half, offer a steep discount for seniors, and cut off ticket sales at a certain volume each hour.

1,700 lira per person, payable in cash or card (debit/credit) in TL, Euros, or USD. The free audio guide requires you leave your passport as deposit (not $), so be sure to bring yours. There is only one place inside that require women to wear a shawl and they have freebies you can use at the entrance to those rooms. The harem is included in this price, NO need to pay an extra 600 TL. Budget at least a good couple hours just to tour the place.

Too expensive ticket, but if you enter, do eat before entering and grab with yourself a bigger bottled water. There is no place to get a water inside, one spot sells drinks at multiple times the normal price. The trip may last around 3 hours so eat well beforehand. Really recommend going early, as later in the day and after 2 + hours after opening, it gets too crowdy.

1500 Liras per person in June 2024.
1500 Liras per person in June 2024. We had to pay this price for kids aged 7, 9 and 11 as well. You only get discount if you show passports. Overpriced and too many people. Museum is worth visting but not at that price.

Walkable distance to all the main attractions of Istanbul: Haghia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, Grand Bazaar etc. many eateries and shops outside the hotel.
The hotel has a good position, being very close to the Grand Bazaar, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace. The room was very clean and you have different options for your breakfast. The fresh and hot flat bread was made in front of you and it was delicious. The staff was very nice, helping you whenever you need something
Location was exceptional, central to the main tourist destinations (Aya Sofia Mosque, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace Museum, Basilica Cistern, etc), but also quiet. Great views from the roof bar, which wasn't actually open (off season) but which the bar steward was keen to share with us. Breakfast very good except for the coffee. My room was very pleasant and comfortable. Good shower, etc. Warm despite the snowy weather outside!
A really nice location - you can easily walk to Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace and the Bosphorus Strait. The staff was friendly and helpfull, the room was comfy and cosy and had a really nice view. The breakfasts were simple, but also nice, and filling enough for the first half of the day.
This hotel is great in every sense. The location is amazing, minutes from the Grand Bazaar with great shops already on the way with the Golden Horn area and Topkapi Palace also within short walking distance. It’s modern, very clean, and breakfast has a good selection. Best of all are the staff, very kind and helpful. We arrived ill and they were quick to help us and were very understanding and accommodating throughout our whole stay. We would definitely stay here again!
A very new hotel, everything works properly, in a very good location close to Topkapi Palace, public transport, restaurants, all you need. A quiet street in a lively neighborhood! Also free coffee (good quality espresso, cappuccino or Turkish coffee). Staff is extremely nice and helpful. In particular Mejt, who speaks Spanish also. All his suggestions were top and helped make for a great visit to Istanbul. We will come back!
A couple of steps from the famous attractions Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia. Short walk 5 mins to Topkapi palace, Grand Bazaar. Hotel staff helpful at all times.
The beautiful place close walking distance to Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace ,Hagia Sophia , Grand Bazaar&Basilica Cistern. We appreciated the open-air terrace with tables and chairs. From here, there are views to the Hagia Sophia and Basilica Cistern and the rich view of rooftops, minarets, and domes. Mr Harun was an amazing host and the staff were wonderful et very friendly.
Location of the property is close to most of the must see attractions in Istanbul. Hippodrome, Sultan Ahmet mosque, Hagia Sophia and Topkapi palace etc are within walking distance of the property. A great place for the stay for short visits and very near to lot of food joints of various cuisines and budgets. Front office was very helpful in getting us the tickets and guides along with Airport drops. Very friendly and super helpful. Cost was reasonable and justified with the market price. Small but neat rooms for short stays.

What guests said about Topkapi Palace:
Walk everywhere possible.
Walk everywhere possible. Visit Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Basilica cisterns and Topkapi Palace but go as early as possible as they get very crowded. For a trip on the Bosporus get the public ferry from under the Galata bridge to the last stop and go up to the castle and then get last ferry back to Istanbul. The first ferry is at 10.35 and the ferry back is at 3ish. It is very reasonable but there is no commentary but we thought it was excellent but be early to get a good view and position on top deck. We found the best restaurant to be Amedros. We went two times and the food is excellent and good value and the staff friendly attentive.

If you go to Topkapi Palace it is worth paying for a guided tour in order to appreciate it. Audio guides are available but in my experience these are often disappointing. The rooms are often empty and there is limited information to read. A guide brings the place to life.
