Quiet. Beautiful location. Enjoyed walk through rainforest, 4WD safari and river cruise.
Ideal for nature lovers looking for a self-sufficient getaway, lodges are fully furnished and have kitchen facilities. Usually made of wood and surrounded by forests or mountains, lodges can be part of a group or a single unit. More remote than vacation homes, lodges are popular for safari trips.
If you want to get away from it all, this is the place! We split our group between a lodge room and a tent, and everyone was very comfortable. The lodge rooms have AC, and the tent was well equipped with a fan and blankets so we were comfortable there. There is a small restaurant/bar that does delicious breakfasts and dinners, and the camp kitchens are large and well equipped if you want to self cater. There is a nice pool and a bouncing pillow to entertain the kids and several tours that are well worth the price.
Loved the remote location, we had a lovely rest for the three days we stayed. We enjoyed the wetlands morning cruise and the sunset safari, guided by Rosco who was so friendly and his knowledge of animals and land was outstanding. He is a great asset to the property. All staff were outstanding and eating in the pub each night was great. Food and service was terrific.
We were the only travellers staying at Point Stuart along with one other family. The staff were friendly, informative and professional. We have not stayed here before nor heard reviews from friends, so we went in blind so to speak. The evening jeep safari was fantastic, got up really close to buffalo which was a rare treat. I would not hesitate staying here again or recommending it to others. Thank you for a wonderful time.
We loved the location, on the way back to Darwin from Kakadu, it was a great spot to unwind before hitting the city. There was a rainforest walk which was great, we also went to a crocodile viewing platform, great spot too. They offer a safari drive at sunset, it was so well worth it, allowing us to see a heap of animals that call the property home, highly recommended!1!
It was so nice to me surrounded by nature and not have any tv or wi-fi for the 3 days we were there. We were able to enjoy the peace and quiet and relax. The staff were all very friendly and professional. The Saloon bar is a great service provided and it clear to see that the owners take pride and great care in maintaining the Lodge and the surrounds. We went on the night time safari and it was great. The staff know the area and are able to provide suggestions on what to do and where to go.
Great location with beautiful wildlife around (Wallabies, buffalos, cattle) The walk from the lodges to Mary River is nice. The staff was very accommodating and friendly (not so much on the phone though). It was very quiet and peaceful.
