It is a beautiful room surrounded by beautiful houses with an amazing view, swimming pool and a BBQ ranch. If traveling with cats, this place is the best, because it is quiet so they don't get any nervous and the bed doesn't have spaces below where they can hide. My cat adapted almost immediately to the installations, which is not common to happen. Highly recommended for people arriving or leaving the country, because it is nearby the airport.
With mountain views, Hortensias Chalets Vara blanca is set in Heredia and has a restaurant, room service, bar, garden, terrace and children's playground.

I loved the location, the glamping pods and the garden. The pods had great facilities and lots of lovely warm blankets to keep us cosy on the cold Poas nights. I enjoyed a morning walk along the trail, listening to the birds among the dewy plants. The first night we went out for dinner and saw an armadillo in the garden. The bed was big and comfy and I had a great nights sleep. It rained for much of our stay - just drizzly rain - but that is to be expected in a cloud forest.
Ideal for nature-lovers looking for a self-sufficient getaway, lodges are fully furnished and self-catered. Usually made of wood and surrounded by forests or mountains, lodges can be part of a group or a single unit. More remote than holiday homes, lodges are popular for safari trips.
Close to the airport, a great dip in the pool, a delicious breakfast, a responsive and welcoming host...we couldn't have asked for more! The host even helped us order late night pizza since we got into San Jose a bit late. We all agreed that upon returning to Costa Rica, we will definitely always land at Uruka Lodge!
Lodge was in a beautiful location with great views and easy to get to.
Easy check in process.
Place was beautiful.
Communication was also excellent and quick.
The views were beautiful, and the bathroom was very nice. However, it was more of an AirBnB than a lodge, which was not what we expected. The gate only intermittently worked, the key to the room was in a Masterbox, and there was no shampoo for the shower.
Great location, really close to the airport. Had great mountain and city views, our lodge had an amazing view from the bed! and I would recommend eating dinner in the restaurant - delicious and stunning views. Lovely hiking trails to the waterfalls and three beautiful pools.
We loved everything about our stay at Tacacori EcoLodge: the small house we stayed in, the breakfast on a small terrace with a beautiful view and breathtaking garden with birds all around. Very helpful owner with a lot of recommendations for the area. That's an oasis which is a great place to relax before or after your flight.
Beautiful garden, own little lodge with kitchen and hammock, possible to order food to the room (from outside or the hotel itself). The owner cooks delicious menus.
Uruka lodge is a very cute family owned place located close to San José. The room was somewhat comfortable and very clean. The owners were the most helpful people, they suggested restaurants for us and offered a shuttle service to the airport even if our flight was very early in the morning! The pool was clean and the place was calm and lovely. You will also meet the cutest two little dogs: Pickett and Bella 🥰 I totally recommend for a short stay around San José.
