This is a location for nature lovers. It is unique and secluded, right by the edge of the Corcovado reserve. You get to see animals on the daily, and I loved the outside shower, especially in the night, since there is no light pollution you can see the stars clearly.
Surrounded by tropical rainforest, with waterfalls and nature, Luna Lodge features incredible nature tours, yoga, spa treatments, an organic swimming pool and free Wi-Fi in public areas.

The food was excellent. The night tour and hike in Corcovado park were exceptional with a very knowledgable tour guide. The grounds are beautiful. The squirrel monkeys above our hut were adorable. We enjoyed the walk up to the bird watching tower on the grounds and the amazing views from there.
Maze Lodge features garden views, free WiFi and free private parking, located in Puerto Jiménez.

You are located right in the jungle! You are on the monkey highway’! So many animals to see right from your deck, three kinks of monkeys, scarlet macaws, toucans, trogons, hummingbirds and more.
Great beds; screens on the windows as well as fans and good AC. This allows you to have the room open to a nice breeze or the comfort of the AC. Wonderful big shower with plenty of hot water. Large refrigerator with room for ice. Bird tour with Louise was wonderful, they have lots of other tours available and they will pick you up right at Maze Lodge.
The lodge is right next to a Zip Line tour, we didn’t try it, but I’m sure you can get a great deal.

The photos of this property didn't quite do it justice. It was beautiful! Very cute little "village" of these cabins. The onsite host was just wonderful and cooked a fine breakfast. Beach? Beautiful and right there! AC was needed and wonderful.
Outdoor clothesline - handy! Next time we stay here, it may be for our entire stay in Costa Rica instead of just the 2/3 days we'd stayed this first time.

We stayed at the King's Suite, which included a spacious sleeping area decorated with original art, with an equally spacious bathroom and well-equipped outdoor kitchen. It also included a covered front porch with a small table where we could enjoy the property's extensive jungle flowers and plants, while watching wildlife and having a meal. There was a small rooftop deck, perfect for bird and monkey-watching, enjoying the second cup of coffee or a book. Odd though it may seem, this property on the edge of Puerto Jimenez is in an actual rainforest complete with monkeys, sloths, coati, macaws, toucans and many other exotic birds. Surprisingly, it was only a few hundred feet from the town's airstrip. Following hotel checkout, we were able to walk to the runway carrying all our luggage. The resort also included a beautiful jungle garden, where patrons swapped stories around the nightly bonfire. This was a perfect place for socializing with the staff and other guests, while enjoying refreshments and more wildlife. On recent Saturday nights, a DJ has offered dances. One evening, a fantastic band from Panama played a variety of live music from Central America.
Offering mountain views, Finca la Bonita, Playa Carate in Carate has accommodations, a garden, a terrace and a restaurant. There's a fully equipped private bathroom with shower and free toiletries.

Exceptional location in the middle of the rainforest. From our cabin we could see and hear the ocean in the distance. At night, there is no human-made light to be seen or sound to be heard. Instead, the night is filled with the sounds of the rainforest: cicadas, birds, howler monkeys.
With mountain views, Amazonita Ecolodge is located in Dos Brazos and has a restaurant, a tour desk, bar, garden and terrace. There's a fully equipped private bathroom with shower and free toiletries.

We loved the warm welcome from all the friendly furry friends- adorable dogs and the sweetest kitten Aurora. The staff was also very kind and accommodating. The sounds of the jungle during the night was amazing. The areas were as clean as can be, don’t forget you are in the jungle, it’s an open concept.
Ideal for nature lovers looking for a self-sufficient getaway, lodges are fully furnished and have kitchen facilities. Usually made of wood and surrounded by forests or mountains, lodges can be part of a group or a single unit. More remote than vacation homes, lodges are popular for safari trips.
My wife loves Playa Carate, and enjoyed her time at this lodge. (I went along as good hubbie, as nature is not my thing, so these are her views). The cabin we had was rustic but spacious, set in the rain forest and with a great view. 3 types of monkey could be seen, and she reports the birding was very good. We stayed 3 nights, and went to the same spot on the beach each day. Carate is definitely the place to see macaws. My wife also loves its remoteness and isolation.
The location is fabulous, you're literally in the forest with a view of the sea. You can't help but admire the effort that must have gone into building in such a remote location, a 2-hour drive from the nearest town. The owner of the Lodge, who initiated this extraordinary project, comes to discuss the project every evening.
Beautiful pool
Excellent service
Excellent restaurant, attentive to every need
Luna Lodge is a beautiful place with an amazing staff. The lodge has a comfortable environment centered around a pool and restaurant/common area that sit comfortably in the forest. Toucans, Scarlet Macaws, and monkeys are frequent visitors and easily viewed.
Great meals with vegetarian/ non-vegetarian options are included with many ingredients grown on site.
We spent 5 days over the Christmas holidays and it was the highlight of our time in Costa Rica.
Our stay in Luna Lodge was absolutely the highlight of our trip.
Everything I imagined and more.
Thank you to all for this unique experience.
Thank you Old OSA for accompanying us to the forest…
We had a great time at La Leona Lodge. Felipe is a great helpful Organizer and also the complete staff make a great job. The Food was very delicious. Also the staff at the office in Puerto Jimenez is very friendly and make everything for the guests.
Very nice setting directly on the beach, very friendly staff, loved the variety in meals, relaxing sound with the waves, private outdoor showers, easy arrangements for guided trips at day or at night, great to encounter the service of bringing our luggage from Carate to the lodge as it is a 3.5km walk on the beach. Good starting point to go into Corcovado NP.
This was an absolutely fabulous eco lodge. Everything that you asked for was provided. In addition, the owner is an expert on natural health and healing and shares her interest with any guest who is interested. For example, she opened her home for a "sound healing" performance while I was there. Massages were excellent too. Food was delicious--very fresh. Mainly vegetarian at lunch but dinners had meat or fish available. Full bar, lovely pool, nice places to lounge and relax.
