Nice place to stay right outside of San Jose! I enjoyed this lodge - it was much better than staying in the city on the day before our departing flight. It only takes 40 minutes to get to the airport, but it is an expansive property with great views, good food, and nice accommodations.
Situated in Sarapiquí, Yatama Rainforest Ecolodge features free WiFi, and guests can enjoy a garden, a terrace and a restaurant. Some units have a seating area and/or a balcony.

The cabin we had was amazing! We got an upgrade to the family hut which was such a pleasure to stay in. The staff were lovely, the food was great and the setting just amazing. I also found the prices for the guided tours pretty reasonable.
Set 9 km from Ebal Rodriguez Stadium, The Chocolate Lodge offers accommodation with a garden, a terrace and room service for your convenience.

Beautiful and unique location. Everything you need, even coffee for the morning, a fridge and some board games. Very friendly host. Even saw some frogs, birds and a sloth on a tour around the farm. We had a beautiful stay.
Ideal for nature-lovers looking for a self-sufficient getaway, lodges are fully furnished and self-catered. Usually made of wood and surrounded by forests or mountains, lodges can be part of a group or a single unit. More remote than holiday homes, lodges are popular for safari trips.
Booked this accommodation last minute. The lodge itself was very basic but it was all about the amazing location being right inside the national park. There was so much wildlife literally on our doorstep.
The location was great! Nice forest and trails, an we have seen the Tapir ans a Tamandua and a lot of other mammals. There where less birds than i hoped (no feeders). We saw a few nice snakes where we came for.
The lodge is smalle butt nice and beautifull in the forest
We had a great guide for the frogs and snakes named Stanley!
Great location in the middle of the rain forest, with plenty of possibilities to explore the nature (trails, tours, zip line etc) - although be aware that in some part of the lodge you just have a mosquito net instead of a window.
Staff was very friendly and helpful, restaurant is also quite nice.
The lodges were big enough for two people, the chairs outside the lodge were great because you could sit there and watch some animals (coatis, snakes, lots of birds,…) go by. The internet was very good. The reserve was amazing! And the guides, Marvin and Fabián, we’re great.
Set in a spectacular location inside a rainforest. The lodge is part of Rainforest Adventures so you can zip wire and there are trails and a rainforest canopy aerial cable car. We hired a guide for a whole day, Marvin, who has outstanding bird knowledge (we are birdwatchers) and the price of $213 for 2 included lunch and a cable car ride. Plenty of wildlife to see other than birds including tapir, squirrels, deer, coatis, snakes and frogs. Not a place to go if you want nightlife (other than the creepy crawly variety!). Very friendly staff.
Some of the staff were friendly, the lodges are right in the middle of nature, there's an area with snakes and frogs in terrariums and a butterfly house that you can visit for free at any time. The short hikes around the park are lovely.
The lodges were excellent, clean and spacious. The staff were friendly and helpful especially Marvin our nature/bird tour guide. Superb guiding. Lots of interesting animals and birds eg Tapirs, Sloths and Coatis. Restaurant was very nice, good food. A great get away from it all Lodge.
