Amazing lodge in the heart of a tropical rainforest. Lots of clearly marked trails and a very impressive tower for bird watching. The wooden floors and furniture in the cabins and the communal areas are beautiful. Delicious local food with very generous portions. We did a night tour and saw an incredible variety of wildlife. The room with its outdoor bathroom was stunning and it was an incredible experience waking up to the sound of howler monkey and toucans.

With garden views, Sabalo Lodge Tours and Cabins is situated in Sierpe and has a restaurant, a 24-hour front desk, bar, garden, year-round outdoor pool and terrace.

Fabulous location, beautiful grounds and the food was excellent. The mangroves tour with Melvin was superb. We saw 3 types of monkey, crocodiles, turtles, a colony of bats, a boa and loads of birds, most of which we would have missed without Melvin's sharp eyes and great information. We also spent a lovely morning kayaking on our own along the smaller waterways. Macaws, aracari, woodpeckers, tanagers, herons, parrots and lots more right on your doorstep. We loved the swimming hole which we shared with basilisk lizards and the odd heron and ibis! The fan in the room really helped to cool us down at night.

Boasting a swimming pool, a garden, a terrace and views of the garden, Finca Kobo is set in Palo Seco and offers accommodation with free WiFi.

The hosts are welcoming, the grounds are absolutely stunning, and the chocolate tour with Jason was the most informative of its kind that I've ever done (and I've done a few!). It's actually far more than just a chocolate tour - you'll learn about so many other interesting things they are doing there. Special shout out to Noah, who went above and beyond to meet any request. Thank you! Oh, and breakfast is fantastic - Jutta's bread is not to be missed!

With mountain views, Dolphin Quest Costa Rica is situated in Piedras Blancas and has a restaurant, a shared kitchen, bar, garden, seasonal outdoor pool and barbecue.

Words cannot describe the atmosphere, the love and care - the magic! - of this beautiful place. We loved the communications before and after we got there, the friendliness of Raffa the boat captain, the warm greeting we received from Reymar as we embarked upon the beach, and many many more things, but what surprised and impressed us the most was the most bountiful and delicious array of food supplied three times a day - all farm-to-table. Fresh fish caught in the gulf that day, fruits and vegetables grown on the land, eggs from the chickens, fresh coconut milk and last but not least the 'shots' - four or five shots of home grown, home made juices provided each morning - packed full of vitamins and minerals. Lots of trips available and wonderful rainforest jungle to the back. We saw dolphins swimming right near the beach one morning. I could rave on .... So grateful we came.

Intimate, all the staff so friendly and knowledgeable. They can’t do enough for you. Felt like an adventure when coming to the lodge as you can’t see it until very close. Food amazing and great choices. They answered questions before arriving very promptly. Can’t recommend this place enough, a little slice of paradise

With mountain views, Amazonita Ecolodge is situated in Dos Brazos and has a restaurant, a tour desk, bar, garden and terrace. There is a fully equipped private bathroom with shower and free...

Whilst we all loved the experience of staying here and wouldnt change it, it was not what we expected in terms of accommodation and we wouldnt re-book. The experience of the jungle was priceless and we loved the jungle living but the accommodation was not as it is advertised and the people "looking after us" were (whilst very nice) a bunch of young lads because the owner was away.

Real handmade Eco Lodge surrounded by nature. The mosquito nets managed to keep most insects away. Two interesting trails on the property, one leading to a beautiful secluded beach. In the evening we were able to see many frogs and a couple of snakes in the two ponds on the property
