La Finca is a FANTASTIC family owned lodge. From the minute you arrive Staff are very friendly and helpful with making recommendations for things to do and see. Andres provided us with names of local dinning spots and hot springs to visit. The restaurant provides exceptional quality food at breakfast and dinner. This was our second time visiting and we look forward to the next!

With La Fortuna Waterfall reachable in 20 miles, La Tigra Rainforest Lodge has accommodations, a restaurant, an outdoor swimming pool, a garden and a terrace.

Not for the faint of heart. Amazing experience, we did our own little night walk on their trails and saw so many things. The cabins allow in all the creatures. On our last night we were woken (yes woken) by a spider taking out a large saccadia. It then camped out beside our bathroom door. Eventually we gave in and ran past using pillows as shields to use the facilities. The bug nets were tucked in tight that night and very little sleep was had. All in all I’d go back for sure….

Located in Fortuna, 20 miles from La Fortuna Waterfall and 21 miles from Kalambu Hot Springs, Cecropia Ecolodge provides accommodations with free WiFi and a garden with a terrace and mountain views.

We had an incredible stay! The food was absolutely wonderful, and the staff were exceptional—friendly, welcoming, and clearly passionate about both the land and the animals. You can feel the care they put into everything they do. Our room was spacious, spotless, and perfectly private, with a large, comfortable bed that made it easy to relax after long days of exploring. One of our favorite parts of the stay was breakfast on the terrace, surrounded by nature and the colorful flurry of birds at the banana feeders. We added nearly 20 new birds to our life list just during breakfast over the course of the week! Highly recommend for nature lovers, birders, or anyone looking for a peaceful and authentic getaway.

Providing river views, Finca Isla Rainforest Retreat in Aguas Zarcas provides accommodations, a garden, a private beach area, a terrace and water sports facilities.

What a lovely place to be able to get away from town! The lovely streams, sleeping to the rain, and waking to the birds was awesome. If you have the time, get to know the owners, they are a well of knowledge and very friendly if you take the time. Before you head out, take a walk around the grounds. And if you’re needing some things to do in the area, ask the owners. The breakfast was my absolute favorite - definitely prepared with care.

Located in Venecia in the Alajuela region and Catarata Tesoro Escondido reachable within 16 miles, Villa Campo's has accommodations with free WiFi, a playground, a garden and free private parking.

Our stay at Villa Campo’s was amazing, we wished we had more time there! The property is incredible, you feel a part of nature with the surrounding mountains, the beautiful landscape, and the natural sounds of the world. It is very tranquil. Only a short ride into town. We saw lots of birds and even a sloth on the property. The room was created very intentionally with everything you could need - a big bed, bug net, fans, warm blankets, towels, hot water, kettle, coffee pot + coffee, mini fridge. A table inside and outside with a beautiful view of the sunrise. Our favorite part was probably Campo and Jeronima though! What a lovely family who treated us like old friends, made us coffee and breakfast and talked with us all morning. They also welcomed our dog Lilah. We would love to come back next time we visit Costa Rica! Only 30 minutes from incredible waterfalls as well.
