We loved this lodge! It was so peaceful, the scenery is stunning, and the grounds are gorgeous - so many different kinds of flowers and plants, and we saw lots of birds too! One of the staff members, Antonio, kindly offered to take us on a walk around the property and down the road, teaching us about the local plants and wildlife. Armando and Marjorie were both super helpful and kind! We had an issue with a lost passport, and they did everything they could to help us find it. Even after we left the lodge, they sent us a follow up message to see if we made it home safely. The restaurant was great - we had a delicious dinner and breakfast. They also made us a really great welcome cocktail! Our room was comfortable and spacious, and we especially loved our deck with the small hot tub. If we are ever back in the area, we would definitely stay here again. We only had one night here as we flew out of San Jose the next day, but it was a great place to relax and unwind after our other travels! Highly recommend.

I loved this property and the total experience. I live in CR and felt this was one of my best adventures. I will return with friends.

Very good experience. The hotel is somewhat remote (9km drive on unpaved road). Gilberth (the owner) is a very nice person. He really helped me when I got stuck driving a small FWD car, and prepared a very good breakfast. Highly recommended place to stay, but I would recommend driving a 4x4 in that area.

I loved almost everything: the nature, the organization, the crew, the attention to the details, the room, the property, the sustainability, the great taste in decoration, the full board, the activities menu, the isolation close to the river. One of my best hotel/stays in my life: it was the most exciting "check-in process" to arrive and leave from a boat doing rafting in a gorgeous place (Thanks Dani Flaco! & Luis for the pics and fun!). I also loved to have the option to shower before go to the airport and have lunch over a boat: all those details... I loved the canopy and the sympathy of Luis as the instructor Dave! The room was stunning. I'll remember this forever, for sure. I wish we could stay for many days, we didn't have time to enjoy the pool and any other activities.

The location is beautiful but this type of accomodation is just not my thing. There is no electricity in the cabins, something that is not indicated clearly. No electricity means no hot water and when it's cold out, a hot shower is appreciated. The water was ice cold. I'm all for saving the planet but I'm not ready to trun into a cave woman.
Ideal for nature lovers looking for a self-sufficient getaway, lodges are fully furnished and have kitchen facilities. Usually made of wood and surrounded by forests or mountains, lodges can be part of a group or a single unit. More remote than vacation homes, lodges are popular for safari trips.
