My room was amazing! Wonderful views, spacious, high ceilings, and beautiful huge glass and tile shower. Also lots of channels on the satellite TV but I didn’t watch much because there is so much to do. Besides all the fun tourist stuff to do in Baños this place is located at the convergence of two protected natural areas and there is as much good walking and hiking as anyone might want to do with beautiful trails starting right outside your door. The property is also a plantation with fruit trees and beautiful landscaping leading you along well maintained trails into the surrounding protected natural areas. The family that runs the hacienda, as well as there staff, were wonderful. They went so much farther than any guest could expect to make my stay enjoyable. They have a restaurant onsite and have wonderful options for your meals which you can eat there or have brought to your room. I can’t say enough about how well I was treated there. You won’t be disappointed if you trust your trip to Baños to Bosque Protector Hacienda Guamag!
Ideal for nature lovers looking for a self-sufficient getaway, lodges are fully furnished and have kitchen facilities. Usually made of wood and surrounded by forests or mountains, lodges can be part of a group or a single unit. More remote than vacation homes, lodges are popular for safari trips.
Breakfast offered an extensive choice, was delicious, and was offered for an extended period for those who needed an early start--to those who wanted to sleep in! The staff, (mostly Argentinian) were exceptional. Their weren't many people staying at the Lodge, but they still went out of their way to light us a bonfire, and were helpful getting us bicycles for the Ruta de Las Cascadas, and to help us with many other questions. Great crew!
Wonderful stay in Banos! Johan, the host, coordinated everything from our airport shuttle to our activities during our stay. Lodge was comfortable and relaxing. Location was perfect for us since it was quiet and next to the river. Short taxi ride and you'll be in the center. Complete breakfast was delicious! Stress free vacation all thanks to the kindness and expertise of Johan!
the ecolodge had great views and was quiet even though it’s just a short walk into town! both the bedrooms and common spaces/community spaces were so relaxing and well decorated. we enjoyed reading books and playing games that were in the communal kitchen! the best part about staying here is that Johan (our host) is INCREDIBLE - he is so helpful with recommendations for things to do in Banos and he got us set up with transportation options and tours. we had the best time and would recommend La Casa Verde to anyone who visits Ecuador!
the accommodation is located in the middle of a forest area (10min taxi ride from the city center). if you are looking for a laidback and remote area, this is the most beautiful place!! it even has a big community area, pool, whirlpool, garden and bar area to hang out.
the facilities are spacious and clean, the staff is very friendly and helpful.
after check out they offered me a locker to store my luggage while I wet on a tour. I was also allowed to stay and use the community areas and showers before I had to leave.
The location and architecture is stunning. The room is reminiscent of lodges in Africa, generous in size and beautiful colours. Thanks to lovely staff, friendly and helpful. Great meals and lovely dogs.
outstanding Hundertwasser-meets- FridaKahlo-Hippie-Jungle-lodge; cosy, colorful; our 40+Sqm suite no. 14 with jacuzzi and panorama windows towards the river 5 m next to the building; fantastic locra ( soup); rich (for Ecuador standards) breakfast buffet; 5 minutes walk to Diablo waterfall
The room was very spacious and comfortable. The view from the room was amazing. Very kind owner. I am not a dog lover at all. But Bingo the lodges dog was great and would help protect you when the other dogs on the road would be quite aggressive.
