Wonderful experience, we got to see the Cotopaxi early in the morning and we were able to horse ride in the National Park. The staff was amazing and food was spectacular. The only downside was our horse ride guide, Rafael, who was very disrespectful and inattentive.
With mountain views, Hotel Tambopaxi is located in Machachi and has a restaurant, a shared lounge, snack bar, garden, sun terrace and playground.

Wonderful location with full view of Cotopaxi if weather permits and we were lucky. Comfortable lodge with wood fire and great beds/comforter. Great hot showers. We enjoyed the trout in the restaurant. The roads to the lodge or anywhere in the national park are full of pot holes. We took transport from locals through the hotel, amazing drivers.
Located 31 miles from Bolivar Theater, Chuquiragua Lodge & Spa provides accommodations with a garden, a bar and a 24-hour front desk for your convenience.

The views from the property are stunning. The grounds are lovely. There was ongoing construction to one of the buildings while I was there (Feb 2025) and I do not believe the spa services are available. The included breakfast was wonderful. The restaurant has limited hours (8-10 breakfast, 6-8 dinner, not sure about lunch) but the food was good. Dinner was very pricey for the area ($10-$20/per person)
Providing mountain views, Balcon al Cotopaxi Hosteria in Sangolquí provides accommodations, a garden, a terrace and a restaurant. The lodge features both WiFi and private parking free of charge.

A beautiful hosteria overlooking Kotopaxi and nearby mountains. It is located in a remote area but worth to stay. The owner is very friendly, kind and knowledgeable about the area. It was very fun to hike in his property with his son. We only stayed for 1 night and wished to stay more.
Located in Lasso, Hostería Hotel Cuello de Luna - Cotopaxi - Country Inn has free WiFi, and guests can enjoy free bikes, a garden and a restaurant.

We had a great time at the lodge during a two-night stay. Adrien provided an abundance of information about the local culture and volcanos, and organized a day trip to Cotopaxi with a local guide. The lodge is also a fully functioning farm with pigs, llamas, goats, chickens, horses, and most endearing to us, dogs. Anouk was always waiting for us in the doorway to throw the latest piece of wood she had found.
The bed we slept in was very comfortable with a heated blanket and an additional heater in the room. There was a firepit in our room that we regrettably didn't end up using, but it's there for those who enjoy fireside relaxation.
Adrien prepared breakfast and dinner each day for us, all of which were filling and delicious.
Ideal for nature lovers looking for a self-sufficient getaway, lodges are fully furnished and have kitchen facilities. Usually made of wood and surrounded by forests or mountains, lodges can be part of a group or a single unit. More remote than vacation homes, lodges are popular for safari trips.
Our stay at the lodge was absolutely amazing. We loved being in such a remote and beautiful area near Cotopaxi National Park. They offer a lot of tours and excursions but our favorite thing to do was exploring the surrounding areas on our own as well as hiking to a nearby waterfall. The staff was extremely kind, accommodating, and helpful. The food was always fresh and well prepared. We honestly could have stayed here longer and would definitely stay here again. Thanks Jesica, Eduardo, and Jonathan!
We stayed for 4 nights and it was just amazing. The Lodge was absolutely beautiful and the staff very nice. Our room was beautiful and cozy. It has a fireplace which was lovely. The ladies in the kitchen were brilliant! The food was excellent. They offer very cool activities.
Amazing lodge with perfect views to the Cotopaxi. It‘s approx 5 km from the entrance to the National Park. The lodge is managed very well with a consistent delivery on a high level. Great comfortable rooms with a nice oven that is being put on at 4 pm for you in your room. Great restaurant offering a changing menu of great taste and quality. Very friendly and helpful employees. Clear „go“.
I really enjoyed my stay here. Everything was perfect. The lodge is in a beautiful location, view over the volcanoes. Rooms are spacious, clean and cozy. Food served at the restaurant is so good.
Particular thanks to Victor from the staff who is very welcoming and helpful. You can ask him anything and he will make sure to help you.
Easy 1.5 hour drive from Quito transports you into a spectacular landscape! The lodge was welcoming and cozy with a modern yet distinctly Andean aesthetic. Great food and hospitality. The toasty fire in the room--that staff maintained through the day--made it even more inviting.
Very cosy lodge on the edge of the town Machachi, kept very clean and well-equipped. Very relaxing vibe and so much better value than some of the more well-known lodges in the mountains. Diego and his family are super welcoming. The tour agency that Diego runs also offers tours to cotopaxi and the surrounding mountains so it makes travelling around pretty easy.
everything about tambopaxi was so beautiful. super clean lodges with a lovely fire that the staff light up for you! the dinner was also super delicious, would highly recommend the horse riding as well !
Amazing lodges with beautiful views. The best hot chocolates to help you warm up before heading back to a cosy fire in your lodge. Friendly and very helpful staff. Great breakfasts.
