Mat’s place was lovely and felt like our own little hideaway from the world. Extremely cozy and a great location. We were easily able to walk to both the beach and the main strip of shops/restaurants. It’s also extremely close to the bus station. We had a wonderful time!

    - This is a bungalow behind the main hotel building and away from the main street. - Breakfast is really nice and staff are very friendly and have a great sense of humour :) - The deco in the lodge is very 'retro' looking - The location of the hotel is great, you can easily go for a morning walk and enjoy the view of the sea before heading back to the hotel for breakfast

Location was perfect as we were visiting family in Herne Bay. Very spacious and 2 bathrooms always a bonus. Air conditioning was lovely as a very warm weekend. Decking front and back of the lodge was well set up for eating and relaxing outdoors. Beds very comfortable. The site is very well maintained and everyone seemed friendly. Communication before arrival was clear and friendly. The ice cream van comes right past your door. Would be rude not to!

Stayed in the Penny Lodge. Very spacious, each bedroom room was far bigger than expected. Large lounge and dining room, fully equiped kitchen, Obviously everything is very dated (eighties?) but that is in the price.

Penny Lodge was spotlessly clean. Staff at reception and the kichen were really helpful.

Penny Lodge - Retro apartment stay on the water front in Whitstable. A 3 bedroom apartment straight out of the 70's (in a cool way) with breakfast for 3 for less than a a standard hotel room elsewhere. Great value.
