Spectacular waterfalls, a landscaped swimming pool and rainforest views are featured at this luxury complex in Pico Bonito National Park. Each charming cabin has a private porch with a hammock.

This is a unique property, located on the edge of a national park with rich biodiversity: an abundance of birds and towers for better bird viewing plus a nearby river for a quick swim. If you love nature, this is an ideal spot. The staff are knowledgeable and attentive, the cabins are clean and well maintained. Highly recommended (this was our 7th or 8th visit and we have never been disappointed). Plan to stay several days one night isn't sufficient to take in everything.

We had a wonderful stay! The resort and rooms are beautifully designed with great attention to detail. The location is fantastic, being very close to the El Bejuco Waterfall hike. The staff were welcoming and friendly, and the food was delicious.

With mountain views, Jungle River Lodge is located in La Ceiba and has a restaurant, a tour desk, bar, garden, year-round outdoor pool and terrace.

From La Ceiba this is an accessible location for hiking and rafting in Pico Bonito National Park. It’s easily reached by bus, although it’s good to be aware that the bus “schedule” is somewhat fluid. Once you arrive, you can be as active or sedentary as you like. Rafting and guided hiking are easily arranged for an extra charge. The lodge serves all three meals (not included in your room rate). Dinners are family style (the vegetarian option is always good), and the meal prices are reasonable considering the effort needed to bring in supplies. There’s also a bar. You can run a tab while you’re there and pay for all meals, drinks and activities with cash or credit card at the end of your stay. The lodge ambiance is rustic. My room was large and basic with a hot water shower and a very large shared balcony. With the help of a floor fan the room stayed reasonably cool despite the scorching daytime temperatures in early April. The lodge's common area has a great view and is a natural gathering point. It’s also where meals are served and is the best place to get online. Internet is iffy to non-existent in the rooms. The owner and staff are really nice and are very helpful in arranging activities and providing information about your onward travel plans.
