My son and I spent a week here in late Jan / early Feb 2025 - loved it. Run by an older Japanese couple who were lovely and super helpful - and had discount tickets for the local hill - and the onsen at the end of the day was amazing. Quiet neighbourhood but easy 10 mins walk to the lift, a couple of good and cheap ramen joints and mini marts with everything you need.

The hosts were extremely kind and helpful! The room was spacious, comfortable, and all you needed for a week of snowboarding. The use of the onsen was fantastic and there is another onsen within walking distance, also worth visiting! It is a five-minute walk to Ikenotaira Resort or you can jump on the bus to head to one of the other resorts.

Owned and run by amazing host Kiki and Hayden. Helps to have both Japanese and English speaking to cater for local and international guest.
What a beautiful location with the option of driving to so many other ski fields if you have a car (30 to 45mins away). If you arrive by bus, host will come and pick you up and drive you back to bus stop.
The ski lift to the 2 main resorts tangram & madarao is 5mins walk from lodge. There was a lot of snow so we could ski back to the lodge along the road.
Breakfast each day was varied and yummy. We extended our stay to 6 nights as we loved it.
Hayden went out of his way to organise a rental car for us so that we could take a day off skiing and go for a drive to the coast. Perfect place and look forward to returning.
Love how this and other lodges close by each have different cuisine for dinner.
Beds are comfortable. Room had underfloor heating and seperate air con unit should you need it.

Maki and her mother are so welcoming, friendly, excellent kooks, hosts and so much more! The food is HEAVENLY, the location is perfect, the private onsen are intense but very nice, the wooden house is super beautiful! This experience will be with us for a very long time.
