NetherlandsBeautiful location around the lake. Our host made a lovely dinner in the evening. Also we got stuck with our TukTuk on the dirt road, but they came straight to help us out. Really excited about this spot!

I recommend cycling the free circuit they give to visit the city. It offered a nice contrast from the other hotels and homestays that we stayed at in Sri Lanka. Both of the guys working in reception were really welcoming and hospitable, and they arranged a full-day safari to Wilpattu National Park for us. Senpathi, the owner, was hugely helpful organising our trips to Wilpattu and the sacred city. Hugely recommend the safari company (sorry I can’t remember your name!) as they drove carefully and spotted really camouflaged animals and birds.
