- Review score8.4Very good · 164 reviewsSuperb location right on the beach with a nice small pool. Very friendly staff and nice bar with good meals. I really enjoyed my three day stay at Thumbi View. Large comfortable bed with mosquito netting and lots of hot water and big thick towels! The village is quite small with a few lodges and restaurants and shops but everything you need is here. Went out to a local bar with a pool table one night which was full of locals and very friendly with great Malawian music playing. I will definitely be back.Guest review byRobertSolo traveller

The bar/restaurant and garden areas are great places to relax and enjoy the stunning view of lake Malawi, as well as talk to other guests. Staff are very welcoming and helpful. The food was delicious. The local community around the lodge are friendly. There was often electricity cuts (not through the fault of the lodge) so a torch and battery bank was useful to have.
