United StatesOak Lodge was a large family home that was made into a B and B in the 1920’s . The grounds were beautiful and bird filled with a lovely garden that surrounds the house. The delicious hot breakfast that the host Robin made for us was worth the stay alone. We had a lounge area on the top floor that was nice and cozy with tea, coffee and biscuits! Oak Lodge was a short drive into Greymouth. I would stay there again if ever I would be blessed to visit New Zealand again.

United StatesAmazing location with so many personal touches! Elizabeth greeted me by name when we drove up and then gave us a tour of the whole facility. They serve home-cooked dinner if you order in advance and it was delicious. Breakfast was also excellent. Much of the food is grown and made by them. Beautiful location right overlooking the beach. It was a bit of a walk to get down to the sand due to a canal that cuts across the property but it is still doable. To top it all off, Selwyn gave us a ride in his amphibious vehicle, which floated through the canal and then went right back up the sand. We had an amazing time.

The house is fabulous, everything is in tip top condition, it's warm, spotless and spacious. Great linen and lots of great little touches such as chocolates by the bed, great quality toiletries etc. The breakfast was amazing. Robin helped us plan our next steps. The guest lounge had fridge, microwave, jug for endless tea and coffee and refrigerating supplies. Very quiet and dark to ensure a great nights sleep. Set in a beautiful garden and easy driving distance to Greymouth. Host was very welcoming, breakfast superb and sent off with explicit driving directions to our next stop.
