Location, the lake, self-checking options, heating system, cooking possibilities, the bed and the furniture.
Ideal for nature-lovers looking for a self-sufficient getaway, lodges are fully furnished and self-catered. Usually made of wood and surrounded by forests or mountains, lodges can be part of a group or a single unit. More remote than holiday homes, lodges are popular for safari trips.
The location and history of sunnyside can’t be beat.
The marina is VERY busy- moving boats in and out to sell and rent. Noisy
The overall upkeep is good
With other small lodges now closed. Sunnyside is the only game in town. Lot of pressure on lodge
The Sunnyside is a wonderful place to stay at ! Perfectly situated on the west side of Lake Tahoe in proximity with Tahoe city and the beautiful beaches of the east side . The rooms are nice and well equipped . The breakfast is very nice and largely above average . Plus, you can enjoy the view on the lake while having it , marvelous ! 😎
Definitely on of the best lodges you can stay at in Lake Tahoe 👌🏻
The Sunnyside resort is a great lodge with an amazing lakefront location. The staff was super friendly and the accommodations exceeded expectations. Would definitely stay again!!
Cozy room, exactly what we expected. Nice that the lodge rooms are clumped in 4's so one shared entryway for 4 rooms, not just rooms along a long hallway or corridor. Made fore a more homey feeling! Wish I had brought my kids when they were younger so we could take advantage of the snow activities.
Nice lodge on the shore of Lake Tahoe. Comfortable beds, clean bathroom. Rooms a bit dark. Good welcome on arrival. Restaurant good. Dinner good breakfast OK.
The breakfasts were awesome and yummy. We ate on lodge deck with sun shining on us and with the beautiful landscape areas it was wonderful. This was our 50th anniversary and Gail at front desk went out of her way to reserve a table for us at Swiss Landing(?) Food was indescribable!! Wished we could have just moved in there.
When you walk into Sunnyside lodge the view of Lake Tahoe is jaw dropping! There’s a large outdoor seating area right on the lake with service from the bar and restaurant. There are lovely beaches at the resort, and nice paved walking/biking trails that follow the lake shore.
