We were SO close to the park that when I woke up at 3 am, and saw the volcano was erupting, we were able to jump in the Jeep and see it! The staff were super sweet and helpful. My daughter loved the night-time hot tub soaks.

The location was perfect since it was super close to Volcano National Park. This is much more like a European Hostel. Our room was small with a queen size bed and located on top floor of the house. It was perfect for our needs. Sharing the bathroom was never an issue. No one was waiting on us and we were never waiting on the bathroom on our floor. If it was occupied, we could have easier used another bathroom. We enjoyed meeting the other couples from around the world. The couples in the other 4 bedrooms were all friendly and respectful. We had food in the fridge and freezer without any issues. We loved it.
Ideal for nature lovers looking for a self-sufficient getaway, lodges are fully furnished and have kitchen facilities. Usually made of wood and surrounded by forests or mountains, lodges can be part of a group or a single unit. More remote than vacation homes, lodges are popular for safari trips.
The owner of the Lodge is a great person and helped me a lot, and I am very grateful to her. Breakfast was great, it's great to have such food so far away from the city
Ingeniously crafted, artistic, efficient isolated lodge providing comfort and convenience in a facility totally off grid. We loved it so much we were reluctant to leave it each morning to go exploring! The only down side was getting there, especially in the dark as the roads leading to it from the west are a mine field of potholes. The approach from the east is much easier on the driver, and the owners should advise their renters to take the entry from the east side.
The Aloha Crater Lodge was a great find! It has a nice kitchenette with fresh Hawaiian fruits and other snacks. A very comfortable bed, and a great Jacuzzi bathtub! There is also a private front porch area to sit, looking out over a beautiful scenic, wooded area.
The Lodge is located within a wonderful Jungle-area, close to the National Park entrance. The furnishing is a bit of a mix-bag, but there is a lot of space available and everything you would expect is there.
1. Aloha Crater Lodge is nestled in the enchanting rain forest. The gardens are lovely.
2. The “continental” breakfast of fruit, bars, oatmeal packets, hot chocolate and coffee was plentiful.
3. Shannon was responsive to our needs.
Perfect starting point for the Volcano Park, only 5 minutes from the entrance but literally in the forest so very quiet. Restaurants and shops within 5 minutes by car.
The Lodge has a very well equipped kitchen available if you want to prepare your food by yourself.
Jon the host ensures that the whole Inn is always very clean and tidy and he is also very helpful when you need anything.
We stayed in the lodge. It was very pleasant and new. The grounds were lovely and had many fruit trees growing around. The amenities were awesome. Everything we needed was available. They even included some food items as the location is distant from shopping.
