Situated in the Amakhala Game Reserve, Bukela Game Lodge features an outdoor swimming pool, a bar and panoramic views of the African bush.

Most of the lodges in Game Reserves are very high standard. Bukela Lodge did not disappoint. From welcoming us to the accomodation, staff, food and organisation of Safaris we felt we booked the right lodge. The staff was outstanding, so nice and very professional. Our house (number 1) had a nice little terrace with view of the water hole and we could see some antilopes very close. The best part of our stay were of course the game drives with our ranger Evans. He is so knowledgeable and passionate. Except for a leopard, we saw all animals we wanted, the whole experience was exceptional. If you cannot go to one of the big National Parks, I can definitely recommend Amakhala Game Reserve.

Providing mountain views, Induli Lodge - Amakhala Game Reserve in Amakhala Game Reserve provides accommodation, an outdoor swimming pool, a garden, a restaurant and a bar.

You will be sure to have a magnificent stay here. Extremely comfortable and very private. Very nice staff and, especially, a highly skilled game driver named Lubela who managed to make every game drive better than the previous. But also a very ”family atmosphere” in the lodge. All meals and drinks are included with nice food served every day. Induli lodge was opened in 2024 and is nicely renovated/decorated with many attention to details. Matt, the owner was very attentive and fulfilled your requests for any specific liquor etc. that you felt was missing.

Situated within the Amakhala Game Reserve in the Eastern Cape and offering an intimate Big 5 experience, these luxury lodges feature exclusive furnishings and private terraces.

Our trip was made exceptional by Ranger K who is 25 years old He had extensive knowledge of the animals were were able to see. These included Elephant Zebra Cheetah Lions Rhino Giraffe and Buffalo. K had extensive knowledge of the flaura & fauna and identified any birds we asked about. We would rate him as exceptional as did the other 6 onboard our vehicle on all 4 drives. We liked our accommodation which is a. Individual lodge offering king size bed and lounge area with walk in shower and bath toilet and access to an outside shower. The main house with old world charm (it's the former family farm house) has a open terrace on which breakfast and lunch were served from which you can see the watering hole where animals (Rhino's Zebra and Hippo) can be seen. We returned from an evening drive in a cool breeze. Staff meet you with a clean cloth and there was a drink with a warm fire close by. The drinks package was much appreciated. The staff were all polite and friendly.

Situated in the Amakhala Game Reserve, Leeuwenbosch Shearers Lodge offers country-style accommodation and boasts an outdoor pool and terrace.

Lovely room with nice outside space with excellent views. Beds were comfortable. Good bathroom with excellent shower and bath. Nice pool area. Quaint bar for pre-dinner drinks and excellent meals with friendly staff in a traditional setting. Good breakfast options. We booked our game drives separately and these were very enjoyable and included a good lunch. Interesting to meet other guests at breakfast and dinner to learn from their experiences and knowledge of the area.

The malaria-free Hopewell Private Game Reserve is set on 3000 hectares of African bush with an abundance of wildlife and birds. Guests can enjoy panoramic views, game drives and free WiFi.

We had an absolutely incredible time at Hopewell - everything was exceptional, especially the incredibly knowledgeable and passionate guides, Etienne and Rhynhardt, who really made our stay very special. We can’t wait to come back. The accommodation was also extremely nice, and the lodge is located in a beautifully secluded spot overlooking a watering hole. Incredible all round.

This must be THE BEST safari lodge and wildlife experience in southern SA! The location, the staff, the guides, the food, the overall experience was absolutely superb. An added bonus was the open bar. A very nice touch indeed. We were lucky enough to meet the owners, and we can see why this place is as nice as it was :-)

The Hlosi game lodge and the reserve were one of our highlights of our SA trips. We had a lovely very spacious house and deck with 2 bathrooms with in- and outside showers. Restaurant and deck with view to the waterhole with 2 hippos was amazing. All game drives were breathtaking and “successful”. We saw all big five (replacing the leopard by cheetahs) plus giraffes, zebras, kudus, etc. very close. It was our best location to spot many animals.

Everything! The lodges were clean, cosy and comfortable. We had a great nights sleep. The small pool on our veranda was a real treat when the sun came out, and you can look out over the grasslands spotting antelopes and warthogs.

Food was absolutely wonderful. Staff were amazing - friendly, efficient and professional. Having spent countless days in the South African bush, this was a step above it all. To have a game ranger like Martin conducting our twice daily drives was the “cherry on the top”. His lovely attitude, enthusiasm and incredible knowledge makes the Safari Lodge a definite return location.

Everything here is incredible, you'll be blown away by the set up, the staff, the food, the safari, the rooms, the scheduling, the drinks options, it's all spot on. The reserve itself is great, so big it feels like a lot of effort to see the animals but still small enough that we saw all of the animals we could have asked to see. The guides were incredible, so helpful, chatty and accommodating and all of the time spent at the lodge is exceptional - chill/drink/eat/coffee/swim, do what you want its all there!

One of many lodges in a vast safari reserve - and I mean vast. Safari drives were over three hours and we saw the big five and many many other wildlife. The all inclusive nature of the lodge was exemplary - lovely meals (although little choice) and uniquely we were offered bottles of wine to take to our rooms.

The lodges are set in a great location and all the staff were friendly and provided excellent service. The 2 safari drives per day were great with Seamus, our engaging and knowledgeable guide. Facilities and food and drink (free bar) were good. Lodges were clean and comfortable.
