Set in Waterval, 20 km from Entabeni Legends Golf Course and 17 km from Doorndraai Dam Nature Reserve, Lichenry Bush Lodge offers accommodation with free WiFi, a garden with an outdoor swimming pool,...

Everything!! The location is so beautiful. The accommodation is outstanding, the experiences they offer are amazing, but most of all, the team at Lichenry are exceptional. They make you feel at home right away. The service is more than 5 star. They make you feel so comfortable. And the food, simply out of this world. Richard is the lynchpin to this phenomenal operation of great service and conservation. He is so knowledgeable about the animals and a fantastic guide and Ranger. Patrick at Front of House makes sure everything is perfect for guests and Doubt, makes sure you are watered and fed with grace and amazing service and humour . I can't say enough about the amazing chef.. The food is as good as any Michelin star restaurant in London. This is a gem of a place that has been hidden too long from the UK traveller to South Africa. It is so with the 2.5 hour drive from Johannesburg. This is South Africa at its best.

I received a call from the lodge telling that I need to book another place because there were people who came at night before my arrival and they were stranded. So they had to give my booked room. Why do we have to book prior to arrival and after they can easily give out the booked rooms?? I'm honestly disappointed, the least they could have done was to get me an alternative accommodation. I was really unconvinienced

It felt like home away from home. The kids were in their element and enjoyed the lodge even though it rained most of our stay. There was a snake caught near one of our rooms. Even though this should be a scary thought. The staff responded quickly to come catch the snake, and the kids got to learn about snakes and what to do when they saw one. That was beautiful yet scary.

The lady that's in charge of Sofala Lodge is very rude and unwelcoming. She has a very bad attitude even when swiping for some stuff she threw the speed point on the table. The staff there are always just lounging around as if they own the place and take their sweet time for guest requests. If I could ask for a refund I would ask for one. The food is bad The staff is bad Their attitude stinks They are not punctual. I'm a traveler and hunter this was by far the worst lodge I've been in. Never to be visited again.

Did not have breakfast. The location is not bad as it is easy to find, on the main road. The lodge is on the beautiful location below the mountain. Clean swimming pool area, producing beautiful pictures.

The lodge is fantastic. The rooms are huge and beautiful view. It exceeded our expectations and I would definitely recommend the lodge to those with bakkies and SUVs.

Very friendly owners and staff at the lodge, and a great dinner. The lodge is nice and secluded in the bush - absolutely no road or "town" noise at all.
