Amazing! This lodge is literally situated in the bushes and is perfect to start your safari early! You can spot all animals on the premises of this lodge, and we were so lucky to spot a leopard on our first night.
On arrival we were friendly welcomed by the dog welcome committee Gijs and Guus, followed by the official check in by the owners Eric and Natasha.
The lodge has all facilities/ amenities you’re looking for and beyond.
Eric and Natasha arranged a 10 hour safari tour through Kruger Park for us and this was an amazing experience with tour guide Elias. We finished our day with a South African Braai Dinner, together with other guests staying at Masorini Bush Lodge.
If we’re so lucky to go back to Kruger Park, we’re definitely staying here!!
All the best Eric, Natasha, Gijs, and Guus!

Cutlery was dirty and rusty. Toilet was not flushing properly. The road to get to the property is not in a good condition. Did definitely not meet my expectations looking at the photo's. Not worth the money.

It was an unbelievable experience to lay in the pool and see elephants coming by to drink at the waterhole. The owners and guides have been exceptional - we felt like being part of the family and can only highly recommend this small and wonderful lodge in the Greater Kruger.

The view from the public areas is fantastic and the staff are so friendly and helpful. I loved having different places to eat the meals. And the food is superb! Our guide was knowledgeable and committed. In all, a wonderful stay. A gym would be ideal, just to be able to burn away some of the delicious calories we consumed! And note that the garden rooms don't have baths and no view, the photos on the site are mostly of the new suites overlooking the river.

Was an amazing 3 days spent in a beautiful setting and enjoying being so close to the kruger and the animal visitors we had throughout the day.
Ideal for nature-lovers looking for a self-sufficient getaway, lodges are fully furnished and self-catered. Usually made of wood and surrounded by forests or mountains, lodges can be part of a group or a single unit. More remote than holiday homes, lodges are popular for safari trips.
The lodge is in a really beautiful ‘wild life atmosphere’ location. The bungalow was furthermore very comfortable and the staff was really friendly and accommodating. We also enjoyed the breakfsst. And there’s also a refreshing swimming pool.
Abelana is a beautiful lodge inside a private Big 5 game reserve. The rooms are private with great views of the Selati river. Every meal was delicious (and the teams took extra care ti cater for all dietary requirements).
Our guide Adi was knowledgeable and took us on fantastic game drives!
The lodge is secluded, perfect for when one needs to be away from the city. All rooms have pool and garden view with bord sounds throughout the day,the tranquility is top notch.
The rooms are big with large showers that always have hot water. There are aircons in the room.
The staff, mme Antoinette and her team with ntate Josiah, always there to serve with smiles on their faces. I loved everything about Normann Safari bush lodge!
We had a lovely overnight stay. The lodges are clean and neat. We enjoyed the comfortable, king sized bed. Beautifull sun rises and sunsets in the bushveld. Natasha serves up a lovely wholesome breakfast. An all-round awesome base for those wanting to explore the Kruger.
Thank you Natasha..
I loved everything. The chalets are newly renovated, with new owners. The attention to details is impressive. The hospitality is out of this world and the owners go an extra mile for their guests. Would highly recommend and we will absolutely go again. One of the best self-catering lodges I've been to in a while.
We stayed one night at the sunbird lodge. perfect location to start your safari in Kruger national Park. The owner even gave us some tips for our safari. Rooms were nice and clean. good waterpressure in the shower.
The lodges are in an open area where you can spot animals from time to time - even elephant. It is peaceful and quiet, a good place to escape the winter cool of the city. Amazing sound of the nightlife all around and beautiful sunsets.
