Probably the most unique and beautiful places I have ever had the fortune to stay. Silk sand and crystal clear water! Sook Peng and Fred are wonderful and kind hosts who help to ensure a brilliant stay. They help to organize all the travel arrangements from your lodgings in Kota Kinabalu to the island via car and boat, and it all worked seamlessly. The food that Sook Peng cooked was simply fantastic and some of the best I have had during my whole trip. The lodge is very unique and they take their environmental responsibility very seriously. Staying on the island is a once in a lifetime experience. It’s completely deserted apart from a small village and there are lots of different activities one can do. (Kayak, snorkel, diving, guided walks). We did bonfires at night and spent the days in hammocks just meters from the beach as the local island cows wandered past.

El The Last Frontier Boutique Resort se encuentra en Bilit, en lo alto de una colina de 100 metros con vistas a la reserva forestal de Kinabatangan y a 2 horas en coche de la hermosa Sandakan. A boutique resort on top of the hill with good views. This resort is well maintained and clean. The team is helpful and friendly, and the food was delicious with good mix of local and western. We had an amazing stay and river cruises with them.

Situado en Kinabatangan, Borneo Jungle Adventure cuenta con WiFi gratis, y sus huéspedes pueden disfrutar de una terraza y instalaciones para parrilladas. Nuestra estancia en Borneo Jungle Adventure ha sido increíble sobretodo gracias a su personal y, especialmente, a Linda, la encargada deñ alojamiento. Aunque no conseguimos avistar orangutanes y elefantes Linda hizo todo lo posible en las excursiones al río. El avistamiento de vida salvaje es así, impredecible. Aprendimos muchísimo de ella y de la selva en nuestros días. Es un alojamiento muy ecológico y amable con el medioambiente y los animales. Linda lo hace todo desde el corazón, y su relación con la naturaleza es inspiradora. Si estás esperando lujos quizás este no es tu lugar, pero tendrás una experiencia para toda la vida. La comida estaba muy buena y las habitaciones son cómodas.

Contando con vista al mar, Maglami-lami Water House en Semporna cuenta con hospedaje y un restaurante. Hay un baño privado totalmente equipado con bidé y pantuflas. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Free snorkeling around Waterhouse and equipment is also free(10RM to rent fin though). Dining is amazingly delicious(we had very good crabs).

It is clean, has welcoming, kind staff and has an excellent restaurant. The views of Kinabalu are amazing, you can listen to the birds sing and have your morning tea surrounded by the tea fields. We wished we could have stayed longer!
