Matsue Forest Park si trova a Matsue, a 12 km da Atagoyama Park e 13 km da Hirata Honjin Memorial Museum e prevede il WiFi gratuito, un giardino con terrazza e la vista sul lago. The very friendly staff and clean and spacious house with pretty lakeview. In the morning breakfast was delivered to the house at a time you could specify upon checkin. Also the pushkart in the house to transfer your luggage from the car parking was a nice addition. Very well equiped kitchen.

Mt Ichibata Cottage si trova a Izumo e propone la vista sulla montagna, biciclette gratuite, un giardino e una terrazza. What a surprise this place was! You get to stay on the beautiful temple grounds. The view from the property is great. A great location in between Izumo and Matsue. There's a hiking trail that starts close by that goes all the way to the ocean. There's a sauna right outside the cabin that you can rent for a few hours. One of the employees from the temple will bring you breakfast each morning. We went to the nearby Izumo Enmusubi Onsen (about 15 min drive) and enjoyed the large outdoor onsen. Watching the birds fly over while relaxing in the onsen was so pleasant. It's neither a pro nor a con, but the cabin itself had a very western feel to it. At one point my wife said "I feel like we've stayed in places like this in the US". This was a great deal for the price.
