We arrived earlier but were welcomed by the kind family with smiles, coconuts and we could already use the pool! The garden and pool are well maintained and the lodges are beautiful. The modern room had AC, mosquito net and hot water. As many accommodations in the area the price is very cheap because they can arrange a safari tour for you: the truth is we were not disappointed with it. We had breakfast right after the early safari, the best we had in Sri Lanka, with many local homemade delicious options. We recommend trying their dinner too, you won’t be disappointed! Maika lodge is only 10min walking from Udawalawe and had also many dining options nearby. We wish best of luck to this beautiful family and strongly recommend staying with them!

Wild River Side was the perfect place to stay for my trip to Udawalawe. Such a tranquil location with Sameera and his family being the perfect hosts. When I arrived he showed me around his garden and pointed out all the spices and plants he grows. The accommodation is clean and comfortable, I had the most restful night’s sleep and it’s truly a unique experience staying in the middle of the jungle amongst the wildlife. Sameera also organised a great safari for me with Milan. If this is part of your itinerary make sure to book through them! Afterwards the delicious home cooked breakfast introduced me to authentic Sri Lankan dishes including hoppers and their sweet pancake rolls. After checking out Sameera dropped me off at the bus stop and even waited with me to make sure I got on safely. This caring and considerate gesture reflects the hospitality at Wild River Side and I can’t recommend staying there enough.

Peacock Riverside Eco Lodge er staðsett 12 km frá Udawalawe-þjóðgarðinum og býður upp á gistingu með garði, veitingastað og herbergisþjónustu gestum til aukinna þæginda. We went for the safari, we stayed in a very rural area surrounded by nature to make the experience even better. On arrival we were offered a cooking class in the evening which was excellent. Sujee and his wife are so lovely and he is so knowledgeable about the safari. The hotel itself is very well built and kept and high quality. We went on a all day safari from around 10am, lunch included, and saw so much on the day, I would highly recommend a longer safari if you can afford it as it’s really worth it.

We were a family of five with adult children and had the whole villa for ourselves, and the experience was amazing! The villa is newly built and everything felt brand new but yet very familiar with Ishan heading a super attentive and nice staff. The views are breathtaking over the surrounding mountains, with a small river pond on the property to take a refreshing dip into (together with the small fish givning you a interesting fish spa experience). We just felt blessed staying in this tranquille environment, enjoying excellent food and just hanging out together. It was definitely more than worth the bumpy ride up to this place. Big thanks to Ishan with staff that made this an extraordinary experience.

Sun city privacy bungalows er staðsett í Udawalawe og býður upp á ókeypis WiFi, garð, verönd og veitingastað. Everything was perfect! The room was really clean and spacious, and the host was incredibly kind. He even allowed us a late checkout since our safari ended at 12 PM and prepared a delicious breakfast for us to take along early in the morning. I highly recommend staying here when visiting Udawalawe.

We were undecided about our National Park visit. We saw the evaluations for nature glow had, and it turned out they were 100% accurate. They organized a driver to pick us up and Ella and drive us to their magical accommodation. There are two accommodation villas located on a rise of land above a small creek entering a larger river. It's very much in the jungle with wildlife abounding. The air conditioning, which was important to us worked very well, and the bed, room and bathroom were all very good. Our hosts arranged for a safari driver for the two of us. The next morning we are up early and went on Safari in the national park. We saw many many elephants, both solo and in groups of females with their babies. And we also saw a variety of other wildlife. For us Sri Lankan food was a new experience. I fully recommend that you arrange to have your breakfast and dinner at the villa. The dishes were authentic and delicious. We were treated to a variety of different Sri Lankan food. Our host were wonderful people. They took pride and doing everything possible to make our stay as comfortable enjoyable and interesting as possible.

Secret River Side Safari Lodge er staðsett 17 km frá Udawalawe-þjóðgarðinum og býður upp á gistingu með garði, verönd og herbergisþjónustu gestum til aukinna þæginda. The host family was really nice and kind. The river right in front of the accomodation was also good option to swim when it is hot. Dinner and breakfast were also tasty and good. Host family also organized safari for us.
