The lodge is right in front of Jukkasjärvi lake (Torne river), which in winter is frozen and covered with snow. You can walk across to this village, where the small and pleasant Sami museum is located. We even crossed the lake on the way back to the village, to catch the bus (501} departing from the Ice hotel. (very punctual bus, which goes to Kiruna). The dinner included and served at the museum was divine. Breakfast in the tent is also great. There is also a very well equipped shared kitchen with a very pleasant lounge area. When night falls, fireplaces are lit around the camp, bringing people together as they wait for the northernlights, that appear majestic in this spot. One of the best places to see them, in the middle of the icy river. (better than Abisko or Kiruna). The chalets are extremely welcoming, comfortable, clean. A small indoor fireplace makes the space even more pleasant. The sauna is top Reindeers beautify the place. The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. Thanks for the spirit of receiving. It engraved in our hearts and irises, indelible memories. One of the best moments of our trip in Swedish Lapland.

We were given more food then we knew what to do with. Coffee, milk, OJ, a loaf of bread, cheese and a variety of lunch meats, yogurt and granola, fresh fruit. We had extra every day and usually made a snadwich for lunch. A different loaf of bread every day that was fresh baked. The bread was amazing. I asked about the coffee and Yoakim procured 2 bags that I bought to bring home to the US. Yoakim, Martin and Erik were extremely helpful with getting us directions to places we wanted to visit. Yoakim set up a dog sledding adventure and snowmobile ride to experience Swedish Fika. If you want to ski, it is included in your stay. Snowshoeing through the forest was beautiful. And the sauna at the end of the day was so relaxing. There was wood and kindling to make a fire every night of our stay. We just stayed in one of the days and just watched the snow fall. It was like being in a snow globe. It was a great experience all around.

The check-in was super easy with Lisa greeting us at the restaurant. She is a very friendly host. The venison soup dinner basket was splendid - a perfect treat after a long day hike. We forgot to leave the keys after checking out, and only found out on our hike out to Nikkalouta. Lisa was very understanding and instructed us to leave the keys at the mountain station for them to collect later.

Arctic Gourmet Cabin si trova a Kiruna e propone la vista sul lago, biciclette gratuite, un giardino, una terrazza, un ristorante e un bar. The host, Johan, was really nice and hospitable and the location itself was lovely as it was remote and allowed us to gaze up at the aurora without light pollution getting in the way. Unfortunately I believe those were the only two reasons I was not entirely disappointed with my choice.
