It was super clean. Elizabeth and her son were fantastic hosts - helpful, accommodating and friendly. The patio area was a gem for evening sunset viewing and morning coffee. They were super helpful with the use of their bbq too. Overall it’s top notch, conveniently located near the highway, but far enough back away from it. The town of Manitowaning is really peaceful, and the beach is a 2min drive from the motel. It is a short drive to Sheguiandah and Little Current as well as South Baymouth (ferry terminal). As a former resident of Little Current, returning home for a visit, I discovered Manitowaning from a new perspective and found it to be an amazing little place to stay. Can’t say enough about the Wayside and the owners.

Betty Ann went above and beyond to help us out when we let her know that we'd come expecting to be in a self-catering unit - completely our mistake as we have a different definition of "kitchenette" in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 . We expected a kitchen sink and dishes, cutlery etc.

I have health conditions that put me at higher risk for adverse reactions, and was very happy to see masks worn at the front desk. Because of that I felt safe chatting a bit and got tips on what to see on beautiful Manitoulin island -- Providence Bay, cup & saucer trail, etc. Room was very clean as well, would stay again.
