We were on route North and wanted to stop over in order to leave early and avoid traffic at the Gotthard. This is a great location for it, next to the highway. Way better than a hotel, with a fully equipped kitchen, a porch to sit on and a garden. Beautiful and very clean!

The Motel Gottardo Sud can be found 7 minutes from the A2 / E35 highway, south of the Gotthard tunnel. It offers quiet rooms, tasty food, free parking and free Wi-Fi. The bike room had ample space to store bikes. Thankfully, I didn't need any of the tools, but I was able to make sure my tires were topped off before any ride. The dining area is pretty great as well. You can easily find your room number on the table. The breakfast is perfect for fueling before a ride and the staff quickly tops off any drinks or items running low. Dinner service is also great with a handful of all delicious options. Conveniently, the funicular is also nearby so you can start your hike with a view of the valley.

Situated on an estate of 8000 m² with many bamboo and palm trees, Bamboohouse Motel in the village of Riazzino features a swimming pool, as well as large lawn with volleyball, table tennis, table... Owner and staff are brilliant, friendly accommodating, helpful with advice on things to see that are not the usual tourist attractions 👍👍 Dog friendly 👌 The motel is easy to get to by car with plenty of parking, the rooms are spot on size wise, clean, Aircon/shutters and with everything you need. The restaurant is relaxed with good food.. Nice pool area, also play area for children, tennis court. Perfect for relaxing. Will be returning
