Just a 5-minute walk both from Heiligenblutâs centre and ski area, the family-run Hotel Kaiservilla features a spa area with a Finnish sauna and a steam bath, and a ski storage room with a ski boot... The location and view from the hotel is amazing. We stayed in Hielegenblut for a week and this was by far the best. It’s close to town, a very well done inn, cozy and charming, gorgeous breakfast (also better than the other hotels). The spa is also very well done.

Three choices for dinner menu and last but least the thermarium (sauna) is spectacular.

The 4*S SPA & Naturhotel Outside is located in the center of Matrei in East Tyrol, surrounded by the mountains of the Hohe Tauern National Park. Each room has a balcony with mountain views. We recently stayed at this hotel, and while the property itself is well-maintained and the staff incredibly friendly, our experience was marred by an unexpected and disruptive renovation project. Just before our arrival, they began renovating the outdoor swimming pool, which made mornings unbearable due to loud construction noise. The noise also drastically altered the view from our room, replacing the serene mountainscape with a construction site. The hotel did offer a small discount for the inconvenience, but had we known about the renovation before booking, we would have considered canceling our stay entirely. Unfortunately, we weren’t given that option, which was disappointing. On a positive note, the buffet breakfast and dinner were both enjoyable, and the property itself is charming. Still, the noise and the construction site view significantly impacted our overall experience.
