Bella Vista Ranch Ecolodge is located in Turrialba and has a garden, terrace and shared lounge. Featuring a tour desk, this property also provides guests with a restaurant. The hosts were wonderful! It felt like staying at your cool Uncle & Aunt's :D They completely organized our rafting trip (Rio Pacuare), cooked dinner, prepared breakfast and were overall super welcoming and helpful. I can definitely recommend them and the beautiful place they call home. PS: Mark, you were right about the monkeys ;)

Orosi Lodge is located 5 minutes’ drive from Orosí mani square and 15 km from Cartago city centre. Free WiFi access is available in all areas. Very nice hotel. Very nicely decorated and comfortable. Tea and coffee in the room with kettle and coffee maker in the small kitennette. Bed was very comfortable. Bedside tables with charging facilities for both plugs and USB. Bathroom was a touch on the small side but adequate for our two nights stay with plenty of towels and toilet papers and shampoo and soap etc. Also had a hair dryer in room. Breakfast was optional with Continental and Rustico( cooked.choices of eggs, bacon, ham, tomatoes and cheese)). With plenty of crusty breads and tasty jams. Staff and owners were very helpful and helped us booked our Tapanti Natinal Park entrance as well as the Irazú volcano entrance. Will definitely come back to the hotel if we are back in this area.

The hotsprings were fenomenal and the restaurant and the food was exellent. We enjoyed the hike and seeing the animals at the farm. We also enjoyed seeing all the coffee plants all around us and actual people working picking the coffee beans. It was a very nice touch to get the sweet treats in our room. The villas are absolutly beautiful and very clean and so unique with all the nice features in every corner you look at with handles made out of coffe tea pots and coffee tin mugs and kettle for the sink. The pine features surrounding the crownmolding and baseboards and sutters matching the furniture was very beautiful!! Very beautiful place and the nature and flowers all around abolutely amazing and the views from all hotsprings outstanding and breathtaken! A must see place!! We will definetly be back and will bring more people there. Access was easy no 4 wheel drive needed.

Everything was as expected. Spectacular daytime views of the valley below. Beautiful city lights view at night. The cabins were very nice, staff was wonderful and helpful. Breakfast was vey good. We were there to go see the Irazu Volcano. The drive to the volcano was about 25 minutes up the mountain. Great location to go see the volcano.

We had a room with access to the garden area and parts of the host’s home. It was really all we needed. The home was beautiful and comfortable. The host was very warm and welcoming. She was able to arrange secured parking next door. A delicious breakfast to start the day with enjoyable conversation with her and her son. Learnt lots about Cartago and them. We were close enough to walk several blocks to the central area to eat and get a feel for the city. Although, it’s not a tourist town, it was interesting to see. The neighbourhood roads are narrow and tricky to drive through. Interesting! We kept the car parked until we were leaving. But, this is what Cartago is.

Situated in Turrialba, 3.6 km from CATIE, Casa de Lis Hotel & Tourist Info Centre features accommodation with a shared lounge, private parking, a garden and barbecue facilities. If only for the wonderful breakfast place—a renovated railway station complete with train cars- the hotel would be a winner. But it’s also comfortable, friendly, clean and well- appointed with a spacious kitchen and quiet garden with table seating along with a rooftop sitting area. PS don’t miss the Museum at the UCR campus!

Grandpas Hotel & Restaurante is located in Cartago and offers free WiFi access and free private parking are available. This place is amazing!! The staff is very kind and professional. The mattress was so comfortable and the hotel looks lovely. I definitely recommend this place!
